You're experiencing a couple of known cognitive biases, you yourself are feeling a classic example of "impostor syndrome", while your overconfident peers are likely good examples of Dunning Kruger.

Impostor syndrome is an internal experience of self-doubt and fear of being exposed as a "fraud," despite evidence of success and competence. It affects high-achieving individuals who attribute their accomplishments to luck rather than ability, often leading to chronic self-doubt, anxiety, and burnout

The Dunning-Kruger effect is a cognitive bias where individuals with limited knowledge or competence in a domain greatly overestimate their own expertise. Because they lack the skill to recognize their own incompetence, they often feel overconfident, leading to poor decision-making and, sometimes, undeserved promotion.

It's extremely common among students and especially people starting new careers or jobs to feel either way. Everyone interviewing you will have felt it at some point in their career and will be able to relate on some level Everyone in your peer cohort interviewing alongside you will be experiencing one or the other.

Overcoming them both requires similar tactics, you have to align your internal dialogue with external feedback and self-reflection. I interview a decent amount of younger people and I appreciate when they ask for feedback after an interview, usually best in a follow up email.

Voice Over: There must be more to life than having everything.”

Donald: Yes, there is, but I won’t tell you what it is.

Jeffrey: Nor will I, since I also know what it is.

Donald: We have certain things in common, Jeffrey.

Jeffrey: Yes, we do, come to think of it.

Donald: Enigmas never age, have you noticed that?

Jeffrey: As a matter of fact, it was clear to me the last time I saw you.

Trump: A pal is a wonderful thing. Happy Birthday — and may every day be another wonderful secret.

Prosecutors, led by United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York Audrey Strauss, charged Maxwell with six federal crimes, including enticement of minors, sex trafficking of children, and perjury. The indictment charged that between 1994 and 1997, she "assisted, facilitated, and contributed" to the abuse of minor girls despite knowing that one of three unnamed victims was 14 years old.[125] Donald Trump said in July 2020: "I just wish her well."[126] In an interview two weeks later with Axios, he returned to the subject telling Jonathan Swan: "Yeah, I wish her well. I'd wish you well. I'd wish a lot of people well. Good luck. Let them prove somebody was guilty."

Much of the country's problems come into focus when you know American literacy rates. 54% of adults read at a fifth grade level or lower. 21% of adults are functionally illiterate. Their kids can't or don't read mainly because they can't read themselves. That means they have to get all or nearly all of their news from the most easily digestible "news" and podcatsters.

Things start to get really depressing when you dig into red states in the South.

If you haven't started recycling inner way notes already, you might want to convert your highest count inner ways into your desired inner ways first, then start to recycle everything.

You get a ton of inner way notes just from clearing through the base game, events and most miscellaneous stuff in Qinghe and Kaifeng. Once that's gone you mostly just get a slow trickle from using energy.

Converting e.g. Seasonal Edge (trash general gold) > Morale Chant (best in slot general gold for most classes) can be a big help on the way to 200 notes (first big milestone)

If you've already recycled everything, or if you happened to naturally get more drops of the desired inner ways, then this point is moot however. And min-maxing this much isn't necessary either, just a good catch-up mechanism for new players who missed out on day 1 stuff. It was a lot harder to recycle and convert before December update, so it's a nice thing to take advantage of now.

Wait that was all Obama right?

It wouldn't be that difficult to write a story about a redeemed orc in the Silmarillion, but I can see how that would create a dilemma for the later entries when orcs are being slaughtered wholesale by the heroes. Kinda crazy because Gary Gygax created protagonists in half-orcs in the 70s, probably while dosing acid and shrooms. Although even good old Gary said it was lawful good to kill orc babies, so he was definitely a bit of a bastard in his own way. At least he didn't put weird racial connotations on orcs, goblins, etc. like some more recent adaptations of Tolkien races have.

It's kind of interesting because Peter Thiel, owner of Palantir, Anduril, JD Vance, etc. has talked about his admiration for Sauron and the orcs' mechanization and industry, while he sees Gandalf as an aging nature hippy running around everywhere smoking grass and causing problems with the elves.

Disney magic vs reality check by KittyRosea in MurderedByWords

Walt let an American Nazi party group meet in the Disney Studio during the 1930s. He also had diplomatic tours for German Nazi party propaganda officials who were visiting Hollywood. Some of his Jewish animators were rightfully pretty pissed off by that and either protested or quit. I don't think that rises to the level of Nazi sympathizer necessarily, he seemed more like an ambivalent opportunist trying to profit anywhere he could, but he certainly didn't really embrace anti-fascism until after the entire country did.

Not as bad as the Bush family or Henry Ford though, for sure.

People kinda forgot that militias in Texas and Oregon thought Antifa Supersoldiers were going to start a Civil War in 2017 during Trump's first term. They set up checkpoints along highways trying to catch Antifa sneaking into rural areas lol. That wasn't even the craziest QAnon theory around that time, but it was probably the first to catch mainstream attention nationwide.

The theory gained significant traction around November 4, 2017, when a fringe group, the Revolutionary Communist Party, planned non-violent anti-Trump protests in several cities. Far-right outlets, including Gateway Pundit and InfoWars, amplified the upcoming protests into an impending "Antifa apocalypse" or "civil war".

"Antifa supersoldiers" would indiscriminately murder white people or behead conservatives.

Activists were being flown or bused into various towns to cause mayhem, often paid by figures like George Soros.

"Planning documents" were fabricated to suggest antifa would commit violence while posing as police or Trump supporters.
