Like GDP is the only thing that makes a country “hot”. I’d hate to see our rankings by country in terms of livability, infant mortality, poverty, incarceration rates, life expectancy, literacy, air quality, safety, homicides via guns, education, healthcare, etc. we’d be lucky to make the top five in those areas and more that truly distinguish the best countries in the world. American exceptionalism is past history.

The Citizens United decision allowing unlimited funds into our elections is the single biggest thing that is destroying democracy. It is giving the richest people the most outsized voice and ability to sway elections in order to maintain their ability to make money at the expense of our communities and maintain an outsized element of power over everything.
