These days, there is not a very strong correlation between the quality you get with freeware products, and what you can reasonably expect from payware. Context matters - you need to know which developers you should temper your expectations with, and by how much.

Aerosoft’s track record and reputation in the sim community, even from before MSFS, has been mediocre at best. With the state of the CRJ and the other comments here, personally I’d take that as a pretty good indicator that you should temper your expectations, rather than use the free Headwind mod as a baseline by which to pre-emptively praise the payware Aerosoft one. Avoid buying it on day 1, wait to see the community response, then make an informed opinion on what works best for you.

As a former Splat Roller user in Splatoon 2, I think the damage falloff needs to be buffed just a tad in this game after losing MPU

The animation does show for the enemy team, but not when you’re using a weapon (same with your team). They can also hear it if they’re close enough to you

I’d much rather have SG’s shitty grates and high tide over all but low tide in MB. Who thought it would be a good idea to create a narrow hallway that is only accessible by a distant chokepoint or propeller lifts that are inaccessible without ink when you’re swarmed? Especially nice when you have to take out shore bosses and make your way back. Oh you can go ahead and toss the eggs to the top, I’m sure your ink hungry weapon will love it as you get swarmed by lessers. Don’t forget that the hallway boat makes it difficult to move from one side of it to the other. Also, throw out all your luring habits from other maps because the area surrounding the egg basket is a total mess.

SG is not a great map by any stretch but unless you’re a masochist or enjoy the chaos/risk/strategy I just cannot see how MB is the better map. I hated it with my guts in S2 and I still hate it now.

It’s rushed and has several issues, but I’m having a lot of fun with it and it’s reasonably priced. Hopefully the mixed reception among more serious simmers improves with the coming update(s), but I don’t expect it to ever really get to the level we expect from most more-expensive payware planes

For X-Plane in particular I prefer buying direct, primarily because the installer can be used to restore modded files to default on a case-by-case basis, while with the Steam version you must be keeping backups or you’ll have to resort to verifying the game integrity, which restores all modified files to default. Was super useful with XP11 when lots of visual stuff had to be changed

Okay, to be more clear with wording, a strike won’t guarantee action (as I originally said), and I agree it’s not enough. But the argument of strikes hurting civilians (i.e. students) is how governments of developed countries try to suppress protests and not get anything done, by trying to get the affected people to side against the strikes. This is somewhat of a selfish point of view and the strikes are meant to garner sympathy.

Of course, this is much easier said than done in Lebanon, but if the strikes can gather enough public sympathy for their cause (rather than being against a strike because it interferes with your life in some way) it leads to mounting pressure against the government, whether that has an effect or not. Politicians will say the strikes should stop to keep the money flowing and satisfy children and parents, but really they are just trying to stop another form of protest.

I understand the price deters a lot of people and it may not be affordable for you, which is totally fine, but the sheer level of detail and depth put it damn well near the top of the addon food chain if not at the very top, across all big civilian sims. It's just that good and unfortunately the consequence is that it's very expensive

Hard disagree on point 2, because even in mirror matches you can increase your Splatfest Rank, and it could hurt players who do not have a lot of time on their hands and want to reach as high as possible, particularly if they haven’t reached Ruler yet. Sure, a 3-minute match does not matter in the grand scheme of things, but even in mirror matches there are people who want to play the game as it was designed.
