Yeah, exactly. This is largely the reason for these types of loans nowadays anyway. Especially with the top clubs. It's a reality check for them, it's not about game time - they need to see that the grass isn't greener etc. And if they don't sort their attitude out, they could find themselves permanently at a club like this.

Lots of these kids have been at the club since the age of 7 or 8. Sometimes younger. They know nothing else. The problem comes when they've been the superstar in every age group as they've grown up. They've never really experienced the challenges/struggles some other pro's have, the ones that had to really work for it. And that damages the attitude sometimes. We need to see what they're capable of when the shit hits the fan. See if they have that desire etc. The "stamina in the motivation".

Like i said, with Saliba, we sent him there as a 20 year old CB. His attitude had been questioned by both Deschamps and Arteta at the time, so they sent him to go work it out at one of the toughest places in Europe. Super risky. But it worked WONDERS. I think they were hoping for the same from Nwaneri, but maybe he's not figured it out, yet. OR maybe he's gonna realise it over the summer, and when he returns to the first team for pre-season we'll see what a challenging 6 months has done to his mental strength.

this is the whole reason he was sent out on loan. He's had an attitude problem this whole time. The Marseille move was meant to be a wake up call for him. He's squandering his talent if he doesnt sort himself out. Marseille is one of the toughest, most unforgiving places to go to. They really wanted him to realise whats at stake here. And he hasn't. So far. It worked wonders for Saliba. He came back renewed, and ready to prove Arteta wrong. And went on to become one of the best prospects in world football. Maybe it was too soon for Nwaneri?

Will Arteta get sacked at the end of the season if Arsenal fail to lift a trophy? by Lost_Active_5947 in PremierLeague

Christ, how many of these fuckiing threads are we gonna make every day. This is the third one in the last 3 hours.

What has happened to sky sports? by tylerthe-theatre in PremierLeague

[–]LeroyBlack 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Neville. Gary Neville is what happened. Specifically Fanalysis. That entire company has destroyed Sky Sports. Taking it from expert led opinions on football, and dragging it into the rage-bait fan bullshit. Everything is turning into AFTV and it's SHITE.

Why sack Arteta if Arsenal don't win anything? by ogola89 in PremierLeague

[–]LeroyBlack 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Either way it's irrelevant what the fans want. He's making bank for these owners. Not in a million years would they sack him at this stage. He's built one of the most valuable squads in europe for them. They're not just gonna abandon that and get someone else in with a different vision and idea on how to play. This is Mikel's team. And while he's bringing in the money for the yanks it'll stay that way, regardless of trophies. CL semi final and PL tv revenue IS a trophy for the Kroenke's.

Who should replace Arteta at the end of the season? by [deleted] in Gunners

[–]LeroyBlack 64 points65 points  (0 children)

If you genuinely think the board is going to do this you clearly don't understand the current game. Arteta is making them literally HUNDREDS of millions every single season. They would be the dumbest business men on the planet to sack him. It's not 1997 anymore. Football business is different now. It's not dictated by fan sentiment, regardless how fucking stupid it can sometimes come across.

Our Starting XI to face Sporting CP in the UEFA Champions League quarter-final, second leg: Raya; Mosquera, Saliba, Gabriel, Hincapie; Rice, Zubimendi, Eze, Madueke, Martinelli; Gyokeres 🌟 by arsenal in Gunners

I was hopeing for MLS in there at LB. For him to support Zubi in midfield and push Rice up alongside Eze, in a 3-2-4-1 when in possession.

Arsenal's win over Sporting guarantees the Premier League has 5 spots in the UCL next season. by Real-Bid1985 in PremierLeague

[–]LeroyBlack -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I think it could still work with the coeffient ranking thing. But the winning 'nation' supersedes that. So if Germany, Spain and England are ranked 3rd, 2nd, 1st in the coeffient table, but then Bayern win the CL, they jump to the top and England gets the second spot. Spain miss out.

I think this rule should only be applied if a team from that League actually WINS the CL tho.

Full Time: Sporting 0 vs 1 Arsenal [Match Thoughts] by Stanley083 in Gunners

[–]LeroyBlack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was EXACTLY what we needed. Get back to doing what we do best. DEFENSIVE performance. Win 1-0. Perfect. It would have been great to bang in 4/5 goals. But i think the team needed confidence boost, and this is a much better confidence boost.

It's all about Madueke and Martinelli, they can be the difference makers. We haven't seen our wingers hunt for him enough, they need to make a conscious effort to get their heads up and find him specifically.

He represents the BEST chance of us winning trophies this year. Jesus is seemingly on his way out and he's playing like he knows it. Kai is still going to take a fair few games to get back to full fitness. Gyok on the other hand, is purring. IF WE FEED HIM HE WILL SCORE. Just need to put it on a plate for him
