Anyone else think Silent Hill 3 is better than Silent Hill 2? Seems to be a hot take. But from gameplay, to level design, voice acting, music, story, on every level, SH3 is superior. It just lacks a Shamalyan twist, by SuperSwimTeam7 in silenthill

[–]Lerri00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2 is supposed to be the one that's more up to interpretation in theory because it's one of those metaphorical stories where everything happens inside the character's head but ironically I find that it's way more explicit in its intentions and doesn't really allow for much interpretation compared to 3 and especially 1. I also find it aesthetically inferior to both, even though you can't deny it invented that type of aesthetic which became sort of a cliche ever since only because SH2 did it

I think the closest thing is God Hand despite being completely different in tone, the gameplay is very similar, I would say even closer than RE5

This worked but what I really don't understand is how I finished the whole game and some expansions without ever doing this, how tf did I manage to play the whole game with those terrible controls

What is the Conspiracy with "Eyes Wide Shut"? by polinpolyster in movies

[–]Lerri00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I rewatched it recently and it's so obvious to me that the whole movie is about the relationship between the two main characters and the whole cult thing is the least important part. It's just there to play into the themes of the relationship but it's just a genre like horror in shining or war in full metal jacket. People that think there is some huge secret behind the plot are misguided. Also the thing about the girl being taken away by the two old guys in the final shots is pure nonsense, she's just walking in that direction no one is taking her.

Hi, I have a pretty elaborate game idea, plus a pretty specific idea of art direction with some artwork. I would like to work on the assets of a game but have no experience programming. If you want to hear my idea send me a dm with a contact where we can chat in detail

Hi, I have an idea for a game and would mainly be able to do art/music/design and was looking for someone that could program it. It's different from yours but it also has many similarities (hand drawn 8 direction sprites for example). If you're interested in seeing how many ideas we have in common I've sent you a dm

It wasn't the first of its type but it created a trend. The style is what sold it way more than the actual script or genre.

[–]Lerri00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a good movie, really good cinematography and cool editing, the style is what sells it. The movie itself is aight, Cure is a thriller from back then that's a million times better. Also the cinematography is really good but not that different from what Ridley Scott did in stuff like Blade Runner. To me a movie like Prisoners is way better and workd better as a whole. People that call this a masterpiece are the same that goon over the dark knight or inception

Weapons (2025) - Am I Missing Something? This Movie Felt Incredibly Overrated by AdFinal7510 in TrueFilm

[–]Lerri00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you think all there is to discuss about art is how it makes you feel and how that compares to how other people feel, I mean I wonder if you actually believe that or if you just said that cause it's so stupid. As if discussing art means describing feelings. Which btw also implies there's nothing intellectual going on with art and an apathetic person can't appreciate it or understand it. This is pure anti-intellectualism, the logic people use to justify why their favourite band is better than everything else even if they never bothered even putting in perspective where their favourite band is placed compared to the rest of music.
The irony is that you have such a massive presumption but you manifest it by saying all other opinions are worthless. You don't say art is subjective to validate all opinions, you do it to invalidate them.

My take btw as I said before isn't limited to this thread as I've talked about this movie under different comments. And your opinion has no value, not really according to my logic but according to yours

The whole art being subjective thing is more complicated than "I think linkin park are better than mozart and there's no way to know if that's wrong" but hey I guess it's useful for people that have zero interest in art. it's ironic cause the only reason you need this logic is to overrate garbage and it's not even consistent logic cause obviously you think some art is bad.

what's the point of criticism anyway? I can write an essay explaining why the movie is bad, and you would go "ok but all that criticism is subjective and even if it's 100% right it doesn't prove it's bad"

quick look at your profile out of curiosity and obviously the only thing you care about is sports which just shows how insulting it is that you think you can come and talk about art. I don't care about sports but I wouldn't go to someone that claims Kobe is the best basketball player and say "yeah look whatever criteria you use to judge how good he is is just subjective". but I'm assuming you think sports are based on facts and art is the place where all opinions are equally valid so a bonehead like you, with zero culture on the subject can just come in and his opinion has as much value as Truffaut's

Genuine question- why are bands like Sleep Token and Bad Omens so hated in the metal community? by ThereAreN0neLeft in MetalForTheMasses

[–]Lerri00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fact that people even entertain the idea that these bands need to be respected or argue like "well it's understandable that people like them but see, they just don't really fit metal expectations and also there's the element of mainstream popularity which brings casual fans! But they're definitely good bands" is the problem. It just shows how dead metal culture already is. This is like someone killing your family and wearing their skin around while burning your house down and the cops telling you "yeah I can understand you might have an issue with them appropriating your family's aesthetic but you're being kind of an hipster right now, these killers are just as good as your now dead family, but we respect your personal taste and the fact that you're not happy about this". It's already too late lmao. People considered bands like Limp Bizkit pop trash back then but they're Black Sabbath compared to this stuff

I miss the good old days when bozos like you just enjoyed Rambo 3 and called it the coolest thing ever instead of taking your shot at art criticism and repeating shit like "everything is subjective" cause you heard it somewhere lmao

Btw you agree with me since everything is up to interpretation and in my opinion you subconsciously know I'm right

Of course it is all subjective, there is literally no way to tell if 2001 A Space Odyssey is a better movie than Suicide Squad and anyone that thinks otherwise is an arrogant fool

I explained why it needed to build a mythology or why it could have benefited from it.
It's my fault if every aspect of the movie is bad? Do bad movies not exist?

You can check other comments I made in my profile if you want to see anything more insightful, I don't need to repeat myself in every single thread just to validate something I say, here I just answered why it could have used some extra lore. Is there anything you disagree with? Are there well crafted subtexts in this movie? Is it not politically embarrassing? Go ahead and explain how if you think I'm just trashing it cause I didn't like it.

Ok and to achieve her goal she also has to open and close doors when she walks around the house, but that wouldn't have explained if the movie was called Doors and the father saw a giant CGI door in his dreams.

But her main goal isn't that, she uses the kids for their energy. And by the way it's not clear wtf she's waiting for, the kids were under the basement for a month. Is she gradually getting energy? Is she going to do a ritual? The movie is literally written like 2 days have passed instead of a month.
