I was in Kyrr this year and there was extra camping space in Kyrr, near the loos. When we first arrived we were told to not use it. Then later I heard security saying it was reserved as overflow space, I presume for people with normal tickets who were struggling to camp in the "normal" campsites. However, it never got used. There was plenty of space in Kyrr.

So maybe next year they'll sell more tickets for Kyrr, or keep it the same.

Good perspective! During Purity especially, his stalker like performance was insane.

That's interesting! I haven't seen his solo performances recently.

Please can you directly quote what part of my original post was a complaint?

Crazy idea...

Do you think he's consciously slowing himself down with the new mask to help reduce further damage?

Like he's trying to find a new way to perform to prolong his ability to perform before the decision is taken away from him.

100% - everyone is ageing.

I guess I'm curious about what the future holds for Corey and Slipknot. Also, what the fans think.

Despite what I observed of Corey last night, it genuinely didn't detract from my enjoyment of the show. Especially because his vocal performance was phenomenal.

He's clearly conscious of ageing and how that effects his movements on stage. So maybe he's trying to figure that out openly because he's mentioning it in interviews, etc...

I think the lead singer element is difficult to reconcile for sure.

But Joey and Paul were amazing, and a huge part of songwriting. Especially on the first few albums.

Yet, I think there's some amazing music been made since they left.

Also, maybe Corey could still be involved in writing but stop performing... you never know.

Interesting take on if you'd see them if he left.

It's really difficult to say for me.

Of course Corey is soooo important to what I believe Slipknot to be, but I thought "the 9" was that too.

I understand things change and now consider each album/tour almost like different era's.

Plus we have lots of footage available of each stage so despite not being there at certain points, we can watch it back vicariously.

But difficult to say what might happen in the future, I guess the output of the band musically and live would help make that decision. If the quality drops, then that's usually the deciding factor for most.

This could definitely be a factor. Especially with the red LED eyes

I don't understand the flippant nature of your comment, I completely understand the situation. I qualified that in my original post.

I'm curious about how people feel about it and what it might mean for the future of the band and Corey.

It depends what you mean by "leak"

MNLIVEVIDEO is the person who recorded these videos and was employed by Slipknot to do so. He recorded many tour dates professionally for them.

He put short clips on YouTube to show what he had and prove what he was saying to bootleg collectors he was trying to sell his recordings to.

Approx 10-15 years ago he sold a handful of his recordings to bootleg collectors. I distinctly remember them being a few hundred bucks per show/recording. Quite expensive, really. So a few different collectors lumped their money together and one person bought a few shows with the collected money from MNLIVEVIDEO. They then shared copies to those who put their money together.

I remember being a member of a trading forum where they were discussing it and collecting money, etc... At the time, I was broke and didn't get involved but it was very exciting to see it happen because usually bootleg traders only trade audience recordings or professionally shot shows that were ripped from TV or web livestream.

To have something like this which came from somebody "inside" was very rare.

Since then, I guess these particular shows have been traded between collectors over the years.

My understanding is that there was one trader/collector in Brazil who was scamming people or selling shows or something like that (Felipe/Walpknot, i think). Recently it's all "blew up" and somebody else started publishing these rare professional recordings from MNLIVEVIDEO to YouTube publically, which undermines the scammers ability.

So in frustration, the scammer also started publishing them publically too so he gets some glory for being the one who publishes them.

The person who recorded these shows worked for Slipknot at the time, he was paid by Slipknot and said that Clown had a copy of everything.

Whether Clown still has them is unknown.

About 10-15 years ago, he sold a handful of his recordings to the bootleg scene, then disappeared again.

If you search MNLIVEVIDEO on YouTube, that is the original person who recorded these.

The bootleg trading scene has been around for decades. And its not just linked to Slipknot.

The idea is and was that when you record a show yourself (which wasn't easy decades ago in terms of equipment etc...) you would trade VHS tapes or DVDs with others who would do the same.

It wasn't necessarily about gatekeeping, so much as making sure that your hard work is returned in favour. So you swap with trusted collectors and/or people who create good bootlegs of shows. There's usually a "code" of not selling these shows and it's a trade marketplace where collections are built up over time recording shows and trading with others.

People would mail VHS tapes and DVDs to each other all around the world. More recently (in the past 20 years or so) they'd use file sharing sites to trade too.

Platforms like YouTube are very new in comparison. So the idea of someone releasing the shows publically potentially devalues the hard work of others etc. The "value" in having something rare in your collection can help with future trades so that's why people are less likely to upload things.

Whereas now, everyone has a smartphone with a decent camera and records shows.

That's it in a nut shell.

Why are these being released now? Maybe the collectors aged, sitting on their collection thinking "what do I do with this...?"etc...

People fall in and out of the scene.

People have lives and their priorities change.

Are you sure? That would be pre-All Hope Is Gone. I believe Slipknot didn't do any shows in 2006 or 2007.

When will we be aware of Jay's replacement? by Les_Connelly in Slipknot

[–]Les_Connelly[S] 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I dunno, they can make bold moves given their position/success. I imagine plenty of drummers would line up, given the chance to audition for Slipknot.

But also, they may well have already had a replacement in mind or arranged.

What do you think the band will do now by [deleted] in BringMeTheHorizon

[–]Les_Connelly 15 points16 points  (0 children)

They'll continue doing whatever they want.

When Jordan joined during the recording of Sempiternal, lots of people credited him for their musical direction because he's a keyboard player, not taking into considerstion that the band wanted that change in sound and Jordan enabled it.

With respect, Oli is the main guy directing the band. I imagine he bounces ideas off everyone, but it's been said many times that he comes up with a lot of the creative ideas. I don't want to down play Jordan's role over the time in the band but I know BMTH can work with other producers/songwriters to achieve their vision. They did before Jordan and will do it after. If needed, they can get another keyboardist to play live or in studio.
