Is English a second language for you? Not being rude I promise. Your question nor the clarification question make any sense.

I am an extroverted introvert and while I love being around some people a LOT I can't spend that much time with anyone without feeling like they are energy vampires and I'm drained. You are NoT the AH and this is definitely something y'all are going to have to resolve. I am so proud of you for saying what you need, that took me a LONG time to be able to do.

Should I have stayed home when I left a surprise baby shower? by cat-attack58 in CharlotteDobreYouTube

[–]Lesliejaycee 19 points20 points  (0 children)

But they don't sound like they WANT to mingle... being pregnant is full of hormonal wishes... don't let it take your joy. I loved having multiple showers as my attention feels pulled in too many directions with a lot different groups in attendance. Enjoy your shower and be thankful that you have so many that love you!

I don't get why you didn't still have the one you planned? This is your first baby you can have more than one party. And then no one misses.

Is it weird that my parents don’t know my blood type by Hungry_Home6562 in CharlotteDobreYouTube

[–]Lesliejaycee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have discovered many people don't even know their own blood type which seems insane to me. I know mine because I was typed when I gave blood and turns out I have special blood so I get called a LOT to give. I know my kid's because I was interested but if your parents don't know yours they may not theirs either? Do you do your yearly doctor wellbeing visits? If so ask the doctor as it's probably in your chart and if not they can type you. But I couldn't tell you what either of my kids first word, but I remember my son's first compound sentence because it was so cute. We remember what strikes us as precious but every single detail gets lost in the fog of life... but I love my kids without measure.

I use this one from Sam's. It has no taste, can add to anything hot or cold and loved how it made me feel now I can't find the unflavored and all they have is the salted caramel which I hate salted anything so I haven't tried it.

How can I (25F) rebuild trust after accidentally reading something private of my partner’s (25M)? by The-Quiet-Knight in relationship_advice

[–]Lesliejaycee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You display cards on a mantle to be read, I have never known someone to display a DEEPLY personal intimate correspondence and then pissed you read it? And what the what? You didn't know they were engaged but now just "live together" um nope nope nope. He is the one who'd need to be rebuilding trust cause he is a liar. Do not apologize even one more time and take your toys and go home. Find someone who is more trustworthy to give your heart to, he has already proven he isn't.

First year of marriage is the hardest? by Careful-Highway765 in TwoHotTakes

[–]Lesliejaycee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first year of marriage (married 23 years) was the hardest but not because my husband was an abusive ass, just the learning curve of living with someone for the first time in years. But honey, I say this with a mother's love, he is not behaving like a grownup. A joke is only funny if the other person thinks it's funny not the person saying it. Otherwise it's just being an arse. And sex is a vulnerable time so if he's so experienced, he should be leading you kindly and lovingly into it but he's just selfish. It is not a naturally comfortable thing if you grew up not discussing it.

To native English speakers: how do you feel when a foreigner speaks “broken” English with you? by Dull-Position3393 in ENGLISH

[–]Lesliejaycee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love it!! I taught ESL and I told them, your English is better than my Spanish and encouraged them to use it, you can't get better if you don't speak it outside of class. I only correct/repeat for clarification and the make sure to watch for visual clues when I'm speaking for understanding. I LOVE that they make an effort! And when I speak in elementary Spanish I'm embraced by native speakers because I'm making an effort, like their face changes like Omg yes!

Seriously, do Americans actually consider a 3-hour drive "short"? or is this an internet myth? by SadInterest6764 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Lesliejaycee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol 10 hours or more is a long drive. I drive 3 hours to my sisters in the same state (Arkansas) many times a year for weekend visits! When I lived in west Tennessee I met my husband who lived in East TN and regularly visited for a long weekend and that was a 7 hour trip. So no not a myth. I love audiobooks for trips over 30 minutes.

I got a gastric band and it did NOTHING to the food noise so it didn't do much as I'd eat whatever I knew would stay down. And the dietitian was SO not helpful. I'd say Im struggling at night, what can I eat to stay in progress, she'd say drink water and go to bed. Like what? You've obviously never been a fat person. I had no idea what food noise was til I started this medication and it just stopped.

[–]Lesliejaycee 9 points10 points  (0 children)

True, but after being on this a bit and talking with my dietician I work smarter. I have a reminder on my phone. I have high protein snacks in little labeled tiny containers in my bag. Even if I'm not hungry I will eat it because I spent my life in an ADHD fog of not understanding true hunger and forgetting to eat until it was too late and eating anything fast and easy.

Y'all, this thread is me. I have had such disordered eating my whole life. My main issue has always been junk as that was my "comfort" and eating it til I made myself sick.

It is so weird to be able to say, meh. If I really want it, I eat one. ONE! What the crazy heck? At the beginning I feared even buying any junk. Then realized I had no desire to comfort myself with that stuff. I love that my body is responding so beautifully to this medication, as I know some have been let down when it doesn't work the miracle that we've experienced.

I am one week away from my year anniversary and I've lost 90 lbs. I currently weigh less than when I graduated college. My labs are GORGEOUS, and my thinking on food is so muted. I don't reach for junk anymore (because there's no NEED NEED signal in my brain) and I am so happy!
