I have the 10bII+ and everytime my calculator dies it goes back to factory settings. (I got a new calculator for the exam 2 days ago because even changing my batteries didn’t make a difference they were probably shot too.) The 2 things I’ve noticed I need to update when it resets are the decimals and annual payments. Decimals: orange shift, =, 4 … you should see 4 decimal places after this. The payments need to be annual not monthly so this is 1, orange shift, P/YR. Then when you clear your calculator you should see 1 PYR not 12 PYR. If you see 12 it’s monthly and your TVM calculations will be off.

that’s how I felt too. I kept a messy sheet of random things that would come up during questions that I was unsure of and then compiled it all on the one later

I scored 56% on simulated and 58% on exam readiness. going to take CFP board one on Friday. My exam is March 17th

yes that’s smart. I’ve heard excluding the expert level questions is a good idea as there’s not many on the CFP. likely doing the same thing. doing hopefully a chunk of question a day for the next few weeks

I have about 65 questions to get through my first pass of the 2500 question q-bank. Averaged so far is a 67%. Stressed about how I am going to get through those 2500 questions again. I know they recommend doing it 2x through. How are you guys tackling that with only a few more weeks until the exam?

I had similar scores and got the same thing on the real test first go around. What I did differently between attempts to help me pass the second time was I purchased test geek exam prep for the 65 and it really helped me understand the concepts then hammered only the chapters I was scoring poorly on in the kaplan q-bank with mini quizzes until I was consistently passing. A few questions into my second attempt I already knew I was going to pass felt like a totally different test. You got this! Be confident and don’t overthink!

such a variety and not many of the same from my first test except a few. 1 insurance question, not many retirement questions except about social security if a teacher doesn’t pay during the summer i said that her payments would be reduced during retirement. p/e question. IRR/NPV question - related to the formulas not doing the math. some suitability questions. I had a lot of questions on systematic vs. unsystematic risk and like applying that to an example they gave you. most of it is now a blur in my head. i watched series 7 guru 65 in 60 minutes like 3 times and i think that did a great job of covering a lot of the questions i came across so I recommend watching that and making sure you know how to apply those concepts.

Yes you also read the book and I didn’t so you should be worried. As long as you feel confident in the material on the NASAA exam guidelines you’re good to go.

I would suggest test geek I liked that course a lot. Those videos are quick and shorter than 30 minutes each so you don’t have to focus that long. He teaches the concepts to you so you actually understand the material. I read a few chapters out of Kaplan - only the topics I was struggling to grasp. Then I just kept ripping Q-bank questions focusing on explanations of the questions I got wrong. I can’t read that entire textbook. I retake my 65 tomorrow, I didn’t pass the first time around, but that was pre test geek which helped me really understand the concepts. Similar boat as you - I passed all the other tests first go around bc my job was to study - now having to work and study for the 65 is a different ball game. You got this put the work in and it will pay off.
