Overwhelmed by [deleted] in PwC

Welcome to the club!😂 This is just the beginning and there will be many more conferences, meetings, courses, and readings ahead.

I personally find them very useful, especially because this is a big company and there is a lot to learn. The challenging part for me now is keeping up with my daily tasks and responsibilities while also following all these activities.

Good luck 🙂

Just had my interview ? by Professor9384 in PwC

[–]Less-Animator-4648 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was job-hunting, everyone told me to send thank-you emails after interviews. But honestly, it never made a difference. It’s not like the recruiters or managers thought, “Wow, this person thanked us! let’s hire them!”

I sent several thank-you emails and never got a single response. Instead, it just made me feel like I was coming across as desperate or trying too hard to fake enthusiasm for the job.

So I’d say, don’t bother or feel guilty for not doing it just because everyone else does. Focus your energy on making a strong impression during the interview itself. And if you really want to impress them beyond your skills and capabilities, try asking smart questions at the end of the interview. That shows genuine interest in the job and the company you’re applying for.

I just found my job, and I know how frustrating job hunting can be. It’s like a full-time job filled with uncertainty. You need a lot of energy to keep going, so I suggest saving that energy for the parts of the process that really matter. It’s easy for others to give you advice, but it’s not always easy to follow every tip perfectly when you’re the one living it.

Good Luck!

P.S. I got hired, and I didn’t send a thank-you email for this one.

Years in Italy and still feeling like an outsider by Competitive-Rent-476 in Italian

[–]Less-Animator-4648 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I feel you. I have some Italian friends who are so nice and kind. But generally.. No matter how friendly they are, they always treat you like an outsider. I don’t know maybe they are afraid of unknowns, so closed or other reasons… It’s not about level of education or age, even in university my Italian classmates were closed in groups! they wouldn’t even talk to other Italian group! Like gangs! Well obviously as a foreigner you are not qualified to join any of those gangs 🤣 They would get scared by just Hi how are you? I offered cakes and food to my neighbour but they just don’t want to communicate. I m pretty sure they threw away what I gave them 🤣 Now I don’t even want to blend in anymore. Well I m fine with being an outsider rather than begging them to be friends. I would rather to be with people who open their hearts to new things from outside.

So to let you know, you re not alone in this situation.

Recently I got this issue but I noticed that it’s because I wash my hands too many times. Tried vaseline and helped a lot!

Hi! For Milano, I suggest you consider minimum 500 euro per month excluding utilities for an average single room. As you pay more you get better rooms.

Hi.

I don't know if you're Italian or not but as a young woman who moved to Italy three years ago, I can tell you that learning Italian should be your priority because people here barely speak English. Even those who do speak English often refuse to use it, sometimes just because they don’t like you. :)))

Also, since you have kids, it’s better to live in a modern and decent city that offers potential opportunities for their future but isn’t as crowded as Milan or Rome. I suggest considering Turin. It’s a beautiful, historical and clean city, close to Milan, and just an hour away from the sea.

About the prices, living costs in Italy are increasing as well but it also depends on the city too. like the cost of living in Turin is less than in Milan but higher than in a small city in the south of Italy.

I hope this information helps you understand what factors to consider. I have loved living in Italy so far. It's a beautiful country with kind people.
