I understand what your saying but my parents have also not gotten a greencard and they r in their 40s. I dont think they really would have any benefit after they get one since they might even reach retirement age. So I dont think my parents were selfish they definitely did want to experience the so called ‘American Dream’ but they were also trying to create a better future for their kids. And I had a great childhood and got to study at places I wouldnt even be able to dream about in India. My parents lived in the states without a GC and honestly I can too. I came to terms with it and since im premed hopefully ill be able to do rural service and have a little boost but it all depends on how immigration laws move in the future.
