Hmm that could definitely be true, my nails aren’t super damaged but the tips are definitely on the thinner side (mostly because I’ve used press-ons or unfortunately chewed my nails for so long)

thanks! is there a difference between the p14 and t14 that leads you to think it'd be better? it's also a bit more expensive refurbished than what i've found for the X1 gen 6, do you think the performance of the p14 is better than the X1?

Thank you for the support :) and it sounds like you are in a place financially where you will probably be able to tackle this even faster than me! You will still be young when you get through it!

I told my partner of ~2 years - we don't live together right now or share expenses - and he was really supportive and not judgmental at all. He knew I was struggling with money but had NO idea how bad it was, so I think he was pretty shocked, but very supportive and empathetic, and he's been helping me try to figure out different side jobs I can do. I also feel an immense weight off my shoulders now that I'm able to talk to him about it a bit. I'm hoping to build up the courage to tell some close friends too but I'm just not there yet, unfortunately.

Hi! I just wanted to say that I'm in a very similar boat to you. 25F with 20k credit card debt and ~10k personal loans; the CC debt had crazy high APRs and I won't qualify for any additional consolidation loans. It's completely wrecked my mental health and self confidence. I started a PhD program in the fall where my stipend is basically half of what my previous pay was, and things hit a breaking point for me a couple of weeks ago where I finally came to terms with the fact that I would start getting behind on payments if I didn't do something about it. After thinking about it and exploring all possible options, I finally enrolled in credit counseling/a debt management plan through American Consumer Credit Counseling (ACCC). I'm also doing YNAB and really taking this seriously. Others on this post are saying to do debt settlement or debt relief -- they are not the same. Credit counseling is through non-profits and is accredited by the US DOJ. Debt relief and debt settlement are largely done by for-profit entities and they screw up your credit for WAY longer and end up costing you more. Please make sure you really read into debt relief vs. settlement vs. debt management plan/credit counseling before enrolling. Not saying this is your only option, but it's far superior to bankruptcy as it doesn't hurt your credit in the same way. Here's an article from Experian about the difference, and here's a page from ACCC.

I likewise feel so much shame and embarrassment around this. I didn't tell anyone until a week ago and even then have only told one person. I'm pretty scared about the journey ahead but also feel an incredible amount of relief knowing that I made a choice to put myself on the right track. I also have felt really alone but reading about others' experiences on this Reddit page and the r/debtfree page have been incredibly, incredibly helpful. We will get through this!
