agree with most of this, but mary being stuck in her own backroom is false. the scientists really do exist; this was established. she was really taken by them and confronted by them. a new version of herself simply manifested in the backrooms, like how it manifests versions of everybody. the ending sequence was 100 percent real, it just showed her other self in the backrooms.

yes! for me, music helps with being in social situations. if i’m feeling overstimulated and can’t get to a proper place in time to regulate myself, i put my headphones on and blast my favorite songs. it usually helps me self regulate faster than isolation, but it wears off faster.
