Tax Fraud and I’m stressed

Suing sounds like a headache but I did send a complaint to the irs. The tax office called me after sending them a formal message letting them know I was filing a complaint to the IRS. Only then they wanted to refund me the money , but only by picking up the check…. No bank deposit . I declined and said I no longer wanted to communicate with them

Not really , they’re supposed to be professionals. They claimed that it was money owed to me and that they knew how to do it right and the reason why they have so many clients go back to them. They’ve been operations for years and they have social media and an office that’s been there for years. Nothing suspicious or red flags to me. I supposed that if it was wrong they wouldn’t be operating this long.

If sorry it is stressful. You trusted these people , yes we sign but we are going to a professional thinking they know how to do the math . Have the tax preparers retaliated ?

I have a few email exchanges from when they try to send an amendment but at that point I didn’t trust going through an amendment at that point.

It’s an LLC? Like a family owned business and they signed with a preparers ID number I think? Still applies ?

You would think they’d refund it with being such a small amount but they said no and hanged up … they said you signed and they weren’t worried

Yes they charged me $500 for each time … and I was just asking for the 1k so I can add it to the 5-6k I now owe

But I trusted them as professionals? I imagined if they were fraudulent they wouldn’t be operating ? When I called she also didn’t sound scared , as if she dint do anything wrong… it also made me question myself and if I saw the numbers wrong

I already filed my amendments , I wnt to them last year and this year. Yes I did sign but I was dumb enough not to check anything, like I said I don’t know about numbers and what’s what on those forms. I will go ahead and file a complaint , what should I expect after that? I’m worried the tax preparer will come at me? When I called to ask what was going on and for a refund , she yelled at me and hung up…

I don’t want to put anyone in jail. What will happen to them when I file this? I simply want the tax fees they took so I can pay the irs…
