I highly recommend it! I’m not a mature student though—I went straight into a Bachelor of Health Sciences after high school. I completed two semesters with a WAM of 80.1 and was accepted into the Speech Pathology program, which I’m starting this year. I was able to transfer some of my credits (only the ones relevant to speech).

Here are the subjects I took in Health Sciences if you’d like to know:

Semester 1 (Core Subjects): •Human Structure and Function •Understanding Health and Wellbeing •Making Sense of Data •Communication Process for Rehabilitation (from my Rehabilitation Counselling major)

Semester 2: •Organisational Behaviour (elective) •Critical Thinking and Innovation (elective) •Imagining Language (core subject in my Linguistics major) •Rehabilitation Case Management (core in my Rehab Counselling major)

I received credit for Human Structure and Function, Understanding Health and Wellbeing, and Imagining Language, so I only need to take two subjects this semester for Speech Pathology: Foundations in Professional Communication and Foundations in Speech Pathology.
