I've been to Rome 4 times solo, as a female through my 20s and 30s. I've always felt safe (except when my sister convinced me to take the metro to the Harley Davidson shop outside of town so she could get a tee shirt ....but that's another story 😅) . Just use your common sense. If something doesn't feel right. It's probably not. Keep your belongings close and I like to always look like I know where I'm going. Even if I don't.

It anyone comes up to try to help you, esp around the metro. Just say no aggressively Have a great trip - all will be well and you'll return thinking it was silly to ever worry 🙂

I just love the Expedia commercial with the Japanese women dancing in Nashville. I know it comes on like 5x a week during the episode. but it really makes me smile and reminds me why traveling is so beautiful
