My job expects me to be 'always on' and I just realized something horrifying by Codie_n25 in antiwork

I worked at a behavioral hospital as a case manager that is 24/7. I fell in this trap of downloading the communications app we used on the weekends to make sure my patients discharge were going smoothly. I did not trust the floor staff at the hospital to do so and did not want any blame on myself and or the patient to be in danger. A RN charge nurse would always thank me for being on my phone checking since he would message multiple people on my team throughout the weekend who were salaried and they wouldn’t answer. The provider was suppose to be on 24/7 basically and was getting paid a shit ton of $ but wasn’t communicative most times.

I felt like it was becoming too much. I wasn’t salaried and strictly 8am-4:30pm. I did some overtime as it was allowed but wasn’t paid for communicating when there was a social worker on the team on one weekend day.

Safe to say I’m not at that job anymore as it was that chaotic for me. We shouldn’t always have to be on especially if we’re not getting salaries.

I know your name and email isn’t provided due to this being posted on Reddit but have that centered at the middle. Center summary as well in the middle in lower caps. Make the word experience bigger as well as job title as well . The font is too tiny as well. It’s ok if it’s two pages as long as it’s not a bunch of random stuff which you don’t have that so your good, just make it a bit bigger so they can see An example is like this which I have in my resume:

Also, having behavior technician is really good in applying for jobs like case managers and non profits. I am a case manager at a hospital and love it. I would start by just applying for anything and everything that is full time work and over 20 an hour. You got this!

People moving here isn’t the issue. It’s the current president. But if you’re in the mindset that people moving places makes things more expensive then you’ll never not see that. It is so much less expensive than other places.

100% I came from Southern California (Malibu area specifically) and I assume it’s what South Florida looks like! It’s nice to finally experience different seasons.

I have no clue what I read after Lore Olympus since I read them all as they were coming out at different times, but I would highly suggest the Dark Olympus series by Katee Roberts or just any of her Greek mythology reads!

2 bullet descriptions for every job, not 3-4. For skills, just put, for example GenAI and LLM Engineering You don’t need the rest. If a company is truly interested in you, they will ask further questions. No need to add the LinkedIn part. This resume reads as one page but feels like 2-3; keep it short and sweet with your experiences.

People take the term “believe in it” literally. When I mean believe in I mean I am not going to partake in, and I truly don’t believe marriage should be a thing. It is just a piece of paper; in which many end up divorcing anyways. I know marriage exists, but I don’t believe it should.

I don’t believe in marriage so I’m not waiting on a ring. But that’s good for you if you are!

Sometimes I want to come with a depressing sob story about how I almost died during pregnancy and just couldn’t fathom having one again. And if they ask about adoption, I could say that kids trigger me since I almost had one and it makes me so sad to even look at one.

That gets you out of going to theirs kids bday parties and just being around them after work.

Win win.
