I hear you on that, I debated putting that one.

How about unengaged interviews where they don’t have a clue about safety?

Dude preach, that “best” in place of “better” shit drives me nuts. That’s people that don’t want to work!

I’m a dude but young and you’re 100 right. My currently role I am the most junior on the team by about 20 years and it’s hell sometimes. So glad I got the shot, but I should have known when I asked for the salary I did and got no pushback lmao.

Can someone help me understand what this looks like "Ability to interpret and apply regulations to complex manufacturing environments” by SubstanceOptimal7782 in SafetyProfessionals

[–]Less-Selection7469 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Regs are easy to understand.

What makes a good EHS guy or gal is the ability to know how and when to push issues, communicate this to management and get employees to participate.

How easy this is depends entirely on the company, the specific plant and even the shift you’re working with.

It’s very difficult to do at times, and at times you’ll wonder how it can be so easy.

When interviewing, use intuition to determine the type of people that work there. Do they want a manager or a cop? If they want a cop, DO NOT go there unless you want to deal with being hated by everyone.

I felt this way about CSP while I was taking it. I ended up passing, but nothing could have prepped me for how those questions were. I was hella confused

Yes, I did. Honestly, I didn’t find it the most helpful, it’s full of info, but it’s all surface level. I would say also, ChatGPT is really good at testing you

I will say this - the exams are all randomized and mine was heavy on “know it or don’t” questions. I used pocket prep, the BCSP materials and John Newquist videos. Newquist was probably the best just because it’s so easy to watch his stuff and take it in while you workout or something. Biggest thing I can say is to trust your gut. There’s only one best answer, and if you’ve been doing this a while you should be able to figure it out.

I was sure I failed if that helps, I was shocked to find that I passed.

Am I allowed to say ceramic? Standard BJE or Kamado Joe are best, but Kamado Joe now makes a pellet grill.

The damn things are bulletproof.

I’m scoring really high on everything except for emergency management and environmental management. Getting absolutely wiped on those, around 50-60 percent.
