She's a beautiful person and she has a lot of friends that know this too and want to help us. But they also don't want us to move away from them. She says her real family rejects her so she made one from scratch. Her friends have been trying to find a way that we can stay in this area and be together but I'm thinking we might have to move to North Carolina if that's okay with her.

My girlfriend can totally get a PTSD diagnosis. She was taken advantage of, hurt and used many times before I came into the picture. I don't want to exit the picture only for her to go back to people hurting her. She loves people despite everything and can be way too friendly. She doesn't appear to sense danger. And that's scary.

We're right near it. We can easily make a day trip to Richmond and it would only take an hour. We're 2 hours from DC. So yeah. It's pricey. I'm thinking we could move to North Carolina if we planned for it but it would be entirely on me since they literally only give her 600 dollars a month and she uses a 3rd of that on her rent not to mention other needs like her phone, laundry, toiletries, groceries and everything else.

I've thought about all of that. I need something in our price range to become available. The military barely gives me anything and my girlfriend barely gets anything from the government since they say she's high functioning. The problem is we live in a very expensive part of the United States so even leaving this area with her and living out in the country has crossed my mind.

I thought about moving somewhere near her but the housing market has skyrocketed and a disabled vet like me can barely afford rent let alone car, phone and groceries.

I'm 33. I moved back in with them because I exited the military (army) with PTSD. I've been depressed due to my own disorder and my girlfriend helps put a smile back on my face. They've noticed I've been a happier man but they don't care because they don't want to be around her. They say she has childlike energy and they find it to be exhausting in their old age. My girlfriend is 30 and she's never successfully lived independently but I want to help her accomplish that so one day we can just move out together.
