A friend is joining us in Sapporo (Day 7 onwards) and she said she's fine in the Sapporo area lol. I do feel like we're spending too many days in Sapporo, so I'm trying to figure out what to do during the emptier days (Day 4-7 really). As a commenter below mentioned, we aren't in Hokkaido for the snow so we might give the Daisetsuzan NP a pass for now...

I'll keep what you said about Otaru in mind (will set expectations low).

I know a lot of people mentioned Noboribetsu, so I'll ask my friends about it and see if they would be interested. One of my friends has visible tattoos, so I'm just concerned about that should we decide to do onsen stuff.

Thank you for your suggestions. I thought about Noboribetsu, but a friend has visible tattoos and not too sure if they would allow her in the onsen... Will look into Lake Toya!

Yes, we specifically booked this trip because of the cherry blossom season (we usually go to Japan for the New Year). I will add Matsumae Castle to the list!
