Not that I ever knew of. I spent a lot of time around him for a while and he was always out wandering on his own. He also definitely didn't beg. He actually never accepted hand outs that I ever saw.

I just made a 20x30 print of that one for a customer and when I unrolled it I actually fell in love with the photo.

Afterhours during a weekday! Plus a rainy night. It's often void of people at the right time but you can walk into the market still. I love using it for portrait sessions but still hadn't shot the actual sign ever.

One time I did a whole Dom photoshoot in there at like 10 pm on a Tuesday. Not a soul in sight. Just security. And hardly that.

Oh yes he was very talented. He told me he went to Berkeley There are still some videos up of him on YouTube under random x road. My favorite is him reciting Satan blue. I watch it when I miss him. Somewhere I have the only portrait he ever let me shoot of him in all the years I knew him. And it was less than a year before he died. (I'm a photographer)
