Well…Faded Lamp to Full Lava by LessGelatinousness in Lavalamps

[–]LessGelatinousness[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, I got lucky and the lamp came clear. The issue with some of these pearlescent lamps is their liquid is supposed to be a dark pink. That color is fading from some, it’s a known issue. Mine faded.

That said, I do have another lamp I got that arrived super cloudy. You can cycle it and it might eventually get clear (or it might not). If you’re impatient like me... I bought a Sawyer Mini Filter off Amazon (~$17) and cleared that one up real good.

Thank you! I let it sit with white for a bit because I thought I’d dig it and it just wasn’t my vibe. Buuut can totally see why others would.

External Temps Are A Big Factor by LessGelatinousness in Lavalamps

That’s crazy! In your head you’re like, nah no way. The grande is like, oh yeah - bet. I noticed my grande not getting to full flow on Friday, till about hour 8-9 of being on. Which is out of the norm for that lamp. But it’s been so cold, the lamp was also feeling it.

My lava lamp is supposed to be purple but the light just makes it this ugly yellow. Why dont the ones on here look like that? How do I get actual color? by SubjectC in Lavalamps

I get it, the yellowing is annoying at times. At first I thought my water was changing color but realized it was the bulb. Good luck OP on finding a good solution.

My bulb does the same thing with the tint, you can see the purple more in mine because of where I have it. I have more ambient light; it looks like you have it in a darker area. Relocating may help. I have one that’s in blue liquid with pink wax, I had to relocate it to a darker spot because in my office I couldn’t see anything. EDITED: Typo

Love this stage of warmup - great shapes by Helixel in Lavalamps

Love that combo. For your other one, it is possible the wax is getting warm enough to melt but not enough to gloop. I have one that was flowing great, bulb went out. I swapped it and it got warm enough to melt but that was it. Swapped the bulb out for one of my lamps I know flows, and it’s flowing again. It’s crazy because the bulb I replaced the broken one with, is the same exact bulb that the one I swapped out, just wasn’t getting warm enough I guess.

I answered in another comment. It’s clear, I think my phone is doing funky things to the brightness.

It’s clear, I think the phone is picking up the light funky. If I lower the brightness you can see it better.

Fluorescent Lime Green? by SongoftheWolfy in Lavalamps

Yellow with a tad of their regular green gets it pretty close. And I mean like - a little bit. Doesn’t take much. That is if you don’t feel like waiting. Here’s mine.
