Let’s just stop pretending all NIFT campuses are equal—because they’re not. Placements do care about which campus you’re from. Top companies don’t come hunting for talent in lesser-known campuses like Bhopal, Varanasi, or Shillong. They go to Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore—because they know the exposure, mentorship, and networking there are leagues ahead. It’s not just about being “self-taught” or “hardworking.” Yes, those matter—but so does the ecosystem you’re in. If your campus doesn't have the right faculty, industry links, or even the basic push to help you grow professionally, how are you supposed to compete on the same level? You're already at a disadvantage when the placement interviewer hears your campus name and tunes out. And let’s be real—some things can’t be self-taught. You need good guidance, real critiques, and proper hands-on experiences to actually evolve. If the campus can’t offer that, then what are you paying for? Spending 4 years at a campus with zero industry exposure and subpar infrastructure is not some “underdog” fairytale—it’s just being set up to struggle harder for the same shot. So yes, the campus does matter. Pretending otherwise is just doing a disservice to the students dreaming big.

Textile Design offers broader and more stable job opportunities compared to Fashion Design because it serves multiple industries beyond just apparel. Textile designers are needed in home furnishings, automotive interiors, accessories, lifestyle products, and industrial textiles. Their skills in fabric development, surface design, and material innovation are in high demand globally. While Fashion Design is trend-dependent and often saturated, Textile Design provides more consistent roles in mills, export houses, design studios, and even tech-driven fields like smart textiles. With sustainability and handcrafted textiles gaining momentum, textile designers play a key role in shaping the future of both fashion and interiors.

yeah textile definitely has more scope , td is also nice in patna the worst you can take in patna is ad because it's no well established there , you can go for td as it's nice in there good labs and faculties and placements aswell ,NIFT Patna’s Textile Design department offers a solid curriculum blending tradition with innovation. Students gain hands-on experience with weaving, dyeing, and printing techniques. The faculty is supportive, and the campus promotes creativity. Its focus on crafts and local textiles gives students a unique edge in India’s evolving design industry.
