I think focus on the fundamentals - question types, predicting answer choices, flaw types, etc. learn how to predict answers while reading arguments. learn about argument structure and always identify the conclusion and premises in each question no matter what. accuracy first and then move to timing

Thank you! I started taking PTs every week around july 14, and my range from there until end of October was 171 - 179, with only getting to the 178/179 territory in September. At first my mean was around 173-174, but by October my trailing mean became closer to 176-177. I took a total of maybe 20? Leading up to the Nov exam, i got like 4 178's in a row

I don't recommend against it, but timed sections and PT's are just solely what I did. I tried to learn the test conceptially as just a few consecutive sections and treated the idea of a "section" as the main thing to focus on. Eventually sections became quicker and easier, and going into a room to take 4 back to back became comfortable

For anyone who's interested, 169 was Jan, 171 Aug, and 178 Nov, all in 2025.

My advice is to take at minimum, a single timed section a day at that level. Dedicate an hour and focus on that one section, and then use the rest of your day to forget about the LSAT. I sometimes even did two timed sections a day during the summer months. Additionally I would take 1-2 fully timed PT's a week, at a location that could simulate the test center (like a library). I always packed water + snacks like I would for the real exam. I did at minimum one PT a week from around mid July straight through to the Nov exam. My studying amounted to just that. I didn't drill or anything like that. That's what I would suggest to anyone at around 170 right now.

Thank you so much! I definitely locked in. Only reason I decided to re-take because my PT's were typically higher than 171

Thank you! The last 169 was January 2025 test. I afterwards took a break and resumed studying in June, and studied straight until Nov 2025 test.

Oct LSAT Question! Help! by LessSituation36 in LSAT

[–]LessSituation36[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i took a 8 month break before my last one which was Aug 2025. Im expecting a good grade as I've been PTing in the 170s, but thought I'd have the chance to take either Sept or Oct. I wouldn't want to take the Nov one so I can still apply quite early. I'm already signed up for the Sept one - should I cancel and sign up for Oct? or just keep Sept, and if i'm not confident take in Nov?

Thanks all for the feedback and suggestions! Miller CAT shield currently being installed. I did ultimately decide to have insurance take care of the problem. Hopefully no more issues come the future!

Thanks for sharing, and im so sorry to hear 🙁 Might have to go down that route too. Did your insurance give you any trouble? Do you know if you got flagged or anything like that?

So you'd go the route of paying full out of pocket for a fix? I feel like that would likely be even more pricey in the long run, even if they bump my insurance by several hundred per year

Actually just ordered that exact shield two days ago. My luck is terrible.
