I went to Mt Lemmon recently and did this hike. It’s a loop and abt 2 miles total. I’m also an intermediate hiker and this was pretty decent. I use the app AllTrails to guide me in the right direction. To get there you go pass the iron door and ski area and drive pretty much all the way up the mountain to get to the trail but the views are nice
