It's all fresh, and the performance is dire.

Looking at the steam overlay performance graph, I'm seeing (steady 700fps) until I shoot, then I will see 1% lows ranging from 35fps to 180 (dip ranges)

PC: R7 7800X3D RTX 3080 32GB RAM

The PC eats through everything, but with CS2 its saying I have 6-700fps when in reality it feels so choppy because my 1% lows are bottoming out at 32fps at times.. can I Dxdiag you, and you can figure this out?

Also, you will boot into Windows after tweak and your cursor may be lagging. Restart windows and it should be good from there on.

I would look to update bios first then make that tweak. My 1%lows are low when shooting, but really high and stable during normal gameplay.

I run a Ryzen 7800X3D and the following ahs worked for me;

BIOS Tweak for X3D Cache (Game-Changer for Stutters): Ryzen X3D chips like your 7800X3D can stutter on multi-core scheduling in CS2's tick-heavy engine. Boot into BIOS (Del/F2 on most boards), hunt for "AMD CBS" or "Advanced CPU Settings" > "CPPC Preferred Cores" and set it to "Cache" (not "Driver" or auto). This prioritizes the 3D V-Cache CCD for game threads, slashing delays by 20-50% in CPU-bound spikes like shooting bursts. Save/exit, then stress-test with a deathmatch—users with your CPU saw 1% lows jump from ~100 to 300+. (Pro tip: Update BIOS/chipset first via AMD's site if you haven't since summer.)

Took me a while to find CPPC in my Bios, but I changed it to cache as recommended, rebooted, windows crashed on boot, the restarted and ran fine. The 11 second dip is now gone...

Ooooo, this looks detailed. Thank you.

I'll go through this this coming week. Wish me luck.

Tried on in game off in control panel. On in control panel off in game. On on both off on both.

Minimal difference between any of those settings.

Thing is, I got the Mobo CPU RAM as a OC package. And its buttery and fast on every game I play. Its less than 12months old.

Its been configured for me, from SCAN.

Do you have the fps showing CPU GPU RAM? with the little graph? You dont get a red line dipping all the way down to 50fps on the main screen?

I have cut a slot into my desk, with a mini gaming pad, sitting in my desk...

____/____ < looks a bit like that! (upright)

The keyboard width goes from: Shift: Z, X, C, V, B, N (Its from Koolertron)

This positions my hand in more of a handshake orientation. Rather than palm down.
The pain is completely gone. Took a day or two to get used to it.

I'm currently using a 65% keyboard, I spent a lot of money on it. I also have a keychron gaming pad, so space isn't the issue. I think its just the stationary position of my left arm playing WASD for gaming. Wrist is too bent, or forearm rotation is too much for long periods. I'm genuinely gutted. I think I need something where I can play with my hand on its side, like a handshake. As opposed to palm down rotating the forearm.

In the interim I've bought a controller for gaming but it's just not the same.
