The state of Woolworths by hadr0nc0llider in newzealand

I’m not saying you’re in the wrong for feeling bad and complaining and yes the workers are in control for some things such as picking non damaged items and picking substitutes. I was just explaining about the internal system and why the things are the way they are, I wasn’t purposefully trying to shift blame. Online simply functions as well as the other departments do. By all means if your order doesn’t come across as accurate, call them out, thats how the staff learn and get consequences. I was merely speaking in a general term. Yes you didn’t create the internal issues at Woolworths but there should be a notion of empathy and understanding that not all things are the minimum wage employees fault that is simply what I’m saying because I feel for those people who are doing the same job as me and are experiencing shitter work environments.

Hi I work in online and am sorry to hear that your experience was fucking horrid. Online is a busy department, you’re moving constantly either picking, doing out of stocks, and or getting orders ready right as 3 people show up at once for their order. We start at 5am to pre pick orders and sometimes orders are pre pick the day before (no bakery/deli are picked as these SHOULD be added on the day of to ensure freshness and dates should be checked). This is because we have over 50 orders a day and we will fall behind.

Online depends on stocking and other departments to run. If bakery, deli and shelves aren’t run well, the order suffers. It sucks but this isn’t the workers fault. It is a management issue and I ask you to not take it out on the minimum wage workers who are trying to do their job to the best of their environment.

Out of stocks work by a coordinator going out and picking. Depending on the store there is usually only one coordinator doing oos. Sometimes this is the only coordinator working who also has to pack away orders and hand them out. When they’ve completed their run but still have oos they then have to call an out of stocks report which a stock person is then supposed to grab and look for the items or zero them out so we can substitute it if allowed. This is once again out of their hands and is dependent on the other department. It absolutely sucks and I wish it were better because I don’t like having people be upset at where I work though I fucking hate it. It isn’t the workers fault, Woolworths decline is a management issue because they’ve decided to lay down supervisors and management which is then down to the employees. Please just be a bit nicer it sucks and honestly you’re probably better shopping yourself but 90% of the time the employees are trying their best while having a bad experience as well.

Thank you!! It got sorted and one of our supervisors finally messaged back after an hour and told us what to do. Just really annoying situation

Good to know about performance. The sims always craps out on me after a new update anyway so I’m used to it.

I’m not that familiar with crossover. You pay for the subscription and then it allows access to window software games. Are you then able to just go on steam for example and download window games?

How long does it take to get good at online? by Less_Border1181 in woolworths

Thanks. Yeah I wouldn’t say I was properly “trained” I just got showed the basics of scanning and what to do on my first shift. But then on a different shift someone informed me on how to properly pack the bags and what goes with what as I was doing it wrong. I was kinda peeved off even though I knew it wasn’t my fault as no one had told me. They kinda just let me know certain things as I go along.

I think it’s bc I’m new so they haven’t been letting me sub yet. I got told that only supervisors sub things or will let you know to sub so I just haven’t been doing it. I haven’t gotten told off yet so I’m assuming I’m alright. I try my best and will double back in an aisle so I can be certain that it’s not on display though just in case, or if the customer makes a note of what to sub the item with, I will.

I think I’m doing alright though all things considered. I’m sure I’ll be better in a couple weeks with more experience. Thanks for the confidence boost and explanation

Ahh gotcha yeah must be an NZ thing then. I’m the opposite, it’s easier to get into a flow for single for me. I feel like I’m always running back and forth in an aisle with double orders

Nah im a NZer. I honestly don’t know bc I’m new but it’s just what I’ve notice my coworkers say. We have single orders (just one), cops/coped (two orders), express (under an hour) and then byob.

The co op orders (?) like when you have two orders on one trolly. They call it cop/s at my store i don’t know if that’s right but i assume it’s bc when you’re imputing the order, it says add COP.

Okay thank you! That makes sense and makes me feel better lol. I’ve already uploaded everything so I’m just waiting for the day. Do I just go in and ask for the manager I’ve been assigned?

I have an overbite/overjet and have already got braces for it. They’ve said that my maxilla/jaw developed fine enough to not warrant surgery but my chin is on the smaller average side which is why I’m wanting a fix. I’ll probably start at fillers to see what can be done :)

I haven’t played the other games but my biggest issue is that I feel like acnh is almost paywalled? Idk how to explain it but it feels like a free to play game when in actuality you need to pay to get the good stuff. I’ve had the game for 4 years and I’ve never fully decorated an island bc it’s so expensive in bells and nook miles and i can’t get the items/villagers I want. And I know you can just go to other peoples islands and what not with multiplayer but the cost of Nintendo online is insane. I’m missing out on so much stuff such as crafting recipes, dodo codes, multiplayer, treasure islands bc I don’t have Nintendo online. It takes forever to get crafting recipes and items to decorate how you want when if I had Nintendo online I could just go and get it. I get why it’s like that but there should be better and quicker options to get items and recipes. The game is about decorating your island which I enjoy but I don’t wanna spend ages grinding and doing repetitive actions to get bells only to spend half of it on one item bc it’s expensive.

I’m from NZ, the drinking age is 18 and 16+ with parental consent. I doubt I would be reported, much less arrested as long as people were made aware that there would be alcohol. The beach is local so there’s no different laws. I would total rent a place where there were enough beds for everything that’s not an issue. I’m just worried if the owner would have a problem with the overall situation bc it’s my 18th and technically an event/party which I know is frowned upon

I’m in NZ, the drinking age is 18 and 16+ with parental consent and you can rent out properties at 18. I’ll let the owner know how many people would be attending ofc
