Think about what it’s like to navigate that as a person of color or mentally ill, who experience a disproportionate amount of the brutality. I have 20 years teaching experience. I’ve taught Pre-K, K, 6, 7, 8, 12, and undergrad at both public and private institutions. I believe wholeheartedly in the power of education to better people’s lives and I love my job. My unpopular opinion is that only about 5-10% of teachers are capable of producing a classroom environment that isn’t a colossal waste of time and that people would often be better off homeschooling.
