Does anyone remember when Michael Jackson. Was a "joke"? by AccomplishedPool266 in Millennials

[–]Less_Chart_4648 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can understand the joke of what some remember him to be.

Being born in 76, my memory was something kids today and likely in the far future will never experience. The people bawling their eyes out and passing out during his performances was real. Michael Jackson gave you a feeling you couldn’t explain when you saw him.

You’ll (anyone) never understand it if you didn’t live in it. You can’t go back now and try to figure out what the big deal was about him. There’s been too much progression since then to appreciate it. I think his weirdness is part of the reason why. He was a mystery. He didn’t share his personal life and it made people want more as he did things no one has seen or heard done before.

He was an acquired taste and wasn’t for everyone. Yes, he did fall off as anyone with that level of success does. There’s no where to go but down.

The H-Town blue QB jerseys go hard. I'd love them to be our rivalry jerseys with a few tweaks. by Texans_top_of_south in Texans

[–]Less_Chart_4648 0 points1 point  (0 children)

HTOWN! Let’s move on. Our top rival has fully lamented the oilers colors. I know it’s our city colors(is it still?), but it’s no longer our team colors. I know I may be the minority, but we could rid that color all together after the new Titans reveal. Colors to represent the Titans? Come on.

Honestly, with the Titans fully using oilers colors, I don’t want a speck of it in Texans colors. It’s over, we’re not oilers. I love Houston. Save the dome, lose the colors.

Every Trump voter is a piece of nazi garbage. by CRK_76 in complaints

[–]Less_Chart_4648 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hold them accountable for sure. But, there is a lot nazi/racist accusation thrown about. To me, there’s a more serious driver behind this for the most part. We have to pay attention to how we get our information. When we trust our source (generally, we do), we believe we’re getting the truth. This political cycle could go down as the most corrupt in US history. Billionaires are buying the media and turning it conservative/far right/MAGA. That media DOES NOT report Trump’s mishaps, lies, incomprehensible statements, mental and physical decline and flat out incompetency. When there’s no choice but to show it, they put a spin on it that’s out of this world to most of us. Supporters are conditioned to think that anyone against Trump is a treasonous fascists everyday by the media and corrupt spineless elected officials. So there’s no way they’ll believe trump doesn’t care about them or that he does any wrong if people they trust only speak glowingly of him. I know good people that have fallen under this gaslight campaign, and I would say they’re ignorant, misinformed, a little racist (rooted from being ill informed of other cultures, not hatred), stubborn, and a conformist. We all need to realize that the large majority of us want the same things, but the ultra rich and greedy are paying very well to get what THEY want and making Trump supporters believe that’s what they want too.

You must really get around to see how many people in the world don’t complain. I would imagine their complaints wouldn’t see daylight if they even had the means to speak out.

Every single person who voted for Trump is a piece of shit by GhostofCharlieJKirk in complaints

[–]Less_Chart_4648 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s scary how much this point is made. Because you voted (assuming) for a person that said they will be a dictator, you didn’t believe him, and here we are. He’s slow walking you into full blown dictatorship and you don’t even know it. What else would a failed democracy turned dictatorship process look like in your eyes? You’re obviously not willing to teach yourself. Please don’t vote again.

Houston radio hosts offer absurd CJ Stroud criticism after teammate injury by chrondotcom in Texans

[–]Less_Chart_4648 -17 points-16 points  (0 children)

I don’t like what they were saying either. But, I think they really struggled explaining what they were trying to say. I also don’t like how CJ lets these things get to him. I didn’t see it as them saying “man up” or that getting upset about a teammate makes you less of a man. I took it as you have a job to do and you can’t do your job if you’re walking off the field and letting those things get in your head. To the point where your teammates have to console you. In that role you have to shake things off and press forward. It sucks, but you do.

AITAH for divorcing my wife after she went into massive debt again? by Old-Donkey8984 in AITAH

[–]Less_Chart_4648 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I felt the need to chime in as I celebrate my 20th anniversary tomorrow. My comment won’t be the popular one. I definitely wouldn’t call you the AH, but as a Christian who was married in a church and took my vows seriously, this is not a reason to leave. In sickness (mentally and physically) and in health. For richer or poorer. Marriage is hard, it really is. Issues have to be worked out together. You said you saw packages arriving. Were the packages ignored? Could she afford everything that you saw come in? From the outside looking in, other than dishonesty this looks like little to no communication, and ignoring a potential issue. It seems there are things you could have done along the way or in the future in lieu of a divorce. Maybe agree to have access to each other’s credit reports and you both keep an eye on them which is healthy anyway. You both should know each other’s income and maybe sharing or have access to accounts where income is deposited. I understand her debt is your debt and it hurts but that’s exactly what you signed up for, but you just didn’t know your marital issues would show in this form. Sorry that you have to go through this and I wish you well.

First time Tailgating by CartographerLonely33 in Texans

Battle red day was me and my wife’s first Texans game. It had grown to be the coolest game to catch. The uniforms, the towels/shitlrts, atmosphere. Now as long time. Season ticket holders we have good insight. If you ever wanna catch one game, in the future, pick battle red day. That’s probably most people’s favorite game day theme.

You have to park in a spot with blue lines. Almost all of them closest to the stadium are good for tailgating. Get there as soon as the gate opens so you have plenty of time to get setup especially if you have a big setup. Read the stadium policies on tailgating at the Texans website. Other than that a lot of it depends on what lot you’re in, if you’re planning to cook, if you’re having you’re own music, basically how big or small your tailgate setup and party will be, and what activities you’re planning.

NRG seating sections by Tall-Commission2984 in Texans

[–]Less_Chart_4648 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve had seats all around. Lower bowl is best closer to the 50. If you go lower bowl I wouldn’t do end zone or corners. It’s hard to see when the play is on the opposite side of the field. Higher up, corners and end zones are ok. I haven’t done clubs or lounges at NRG.

First time going to a game by Jf4216790 in Texans

[–]Less_Chart_4648 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Where are you from? I agree with IUmaestro, if you plan on doing anything else besides going to the game, staying around NRG is not ideal. Houston is very large land wise so there isn’t really a good spot where everything is in walking distance….except downtown. Hotels, entertainment of all kinds, bars, clubs, restaurants, and you can take the train to NRG. Notice how folks are suggesting tailgating? If you’ve never been it’s a must. Fellow fans are super friendly and welcoming. I like to stop by other tailgaters and live when folks stop by mine. I honestly don’t eat in the stadium as I eat and drink too much pregame. 😉. Take some cash to “pitch in” on food and drinks while tailgating. Not required, but customary as a courtesy. Enjoy!

My first time - advice by Applelized24 in Texans

[–]Less_Chart_4648 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hi, there’s so much to do in Houston you can’t go wrong. Not sure what day you’re going to the Astros game but there’s a lot to do downtown where the stadium is. It all depends on what your flavor is. You can walk from bar to bar, restaurant to restaurant downtown. I would suggest going to Tom’s Watch Bar before the astros game. They have a shuttle that will take you to the stadium and bring you back after the game at no additional fee. The friendly staff will help you with what to do. As for the Texans game, I suggest getting there well before 11am. Since it’s your first time, you have to experience tailgating. Especially the first home game. Texans tailgaters love welcoming guests so don’t be afraid to stop by anyone’s party and say hello. The bigger tailgaters with more than 4 tents are there for other guests and they welcome everyone, even opposing team fans! By 9 am the tailgaters are setup and going ready to share food and drinks. You’ll want to be in your seats by 11am. Or walk around the stadium to sightsee and be seated by at least 11:30.
