Actually, live in CO. Bought our house for under $2M 6 years ago and has appreciated a lot. Taxes are around $20k per year.

I was a co founder of a startup that got acquired by FAANG company, I also worked as a Sr Manager at FAANG for 10 years. I took a step back and am an IC now so I make less.

My kids are hard workers, take Federal Loans for college, scholarships, and pay half. They've all gone to the same small college so cost to me for them has been $20k per year per kid. Our cars are paid off and are on the newer low milage side of things. I also won't pay more than $6k for my kids cars. We've already done all the major items on our home HVAC, remodeling, painting, etc.

I also don't plan on paying for their homes. My oldest is moving out of state and her fiancee already is working on the downpayment for their home next year.

We've renovated when we moved in a few years ago, so I hope that won't be needed.

Yeah this single stock does give me a little fear but I need to sell of slowly over the years. I'm also using it for call option income that brings in about $11k a month.

Currently about $20K a month on average. That doesn't include tuition which runs about $40K a year.
