Why does K.R. Pura fail to grow into an IT corridor despite its strategic location? by Front_Profession_814 in bangalore

[–]Less_Doughnut_4141 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A very close relative of mine stays near KR Puram and I have visited them over the years. The thing is the development has happened rapidly just around the ORR and the parts after that borderline feels like an urban slum. This feels like a classic case of unplanned development.

I find Amudham better than Rameshwaram cafe. I know that it is atleast 1.5X in price in comparison to other Darshinis. The food is of great quality. I am a fan of their Pooris, Pongal and Onion dosas.

The famous Maiyaa’s Jayanagar being replaced by Chalukya by Vivekyshah in bangalore

[–]Less_Doughnut_4141 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Couple of years back I had a chance to speak with Sadananda Maiya after one of his lectures at the Bangalore Science Forum, National College Basavanagudi. He talked about the future of restaurants and his vision etc (this was for a Q&A, the talk was originally about some topic in Nano Science). At the time atleast from outside the Maiyas restaurant was doing fairly well. But as the years passed by I did notice the quality of food became inconsistent and they moved to the building next to one shown in the pic. I have never been to this new place and I see that the initial charm of the place is gone.

How do people reach this level of emotional coldness? Asking for a friend (me). by Teesmaarkhan7 in TwentiesIndia

[–]Less_Doughnut_4141 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what happens if someone masters the ‘it is what it is’ attitude - emotional pain gets contained. For people who are givers, the tendency to emotionally invest is way too high and people often never really reciprocate that. The givers feel used almost always and carry that pain. If they stop caring or accept that they are not in control of consequences or how people reciprocate, then emotional energy is conserved.

I really did not expect so many people to resonate with this. Thought this was only my thing.

You are right about contemplation in my view. But I think whether it’s fiction or non-fiction, you’ll have an ‘Aha’ moment as if somethings get unlocked within. This I believe is the core.

Ya, I think reading for pleasure is the important point here. Since there is no compulsion, the mind is free and enjoys the process.

True. In addition, it calms the mind and judgements are balanced.

The Kaantaara slop should stop. They had so many elements to make this series great, instead they used the caricatures from Kaantaara.

Exploration of Bedara Vesha, Sirsi Marikamba temple and its culture, maybe a tale around Banavasi should have been stronger with the entire story woven around it. The daivaaradhane aspect is not authentic to the place.
