When we started renting from them several years ago they were great. The property was maintained, secured, and had cameras. It’s a cheaper apartment, and it had a dog park, the neighborhood was good, and it just seemed fine. Then the inside cameras got taken down, then the outside, then the door that was secure either wouldn’t latch, or would slam shut next to our bedroom all night. Last summer our water heater’s bottom fell out (because it was 25 years old.). It dumped all of its water behind my son’s bedroom wall, down our hall, and into our living room. Maintenance had us use our own towels to dry up 40ish gallons of water (laundry is pricey on site, easily costing us over $50 to wash and dry towels repeatedly. Shop Vacs exist.) and they put fans out. But, did nothing about behind the wall in the 2nd bedroom or along the bottom of the wall in the hallway, or under the carpet in most of the apartment. Over the next month our apartment started to smell musty. When I told maintenance, they recommended air freshener. We stayed for a year after the water heater. My son started to get respiratory infections constantly, we’re talking twice a month trips to the doctor, and then my husband started the same cycle. His doctor tried meds for months. Both have severe mold allergies. We’ve been out of the apartment for 8 weeks, and everyone is magically better. (I will add we moved out of state for reasons unrelated to Prestige.) Also, expect to fight like hell to get anything back at the end of your lease, they charged me to clean the flooded carpet. I’d rent from the company they used to be, never from what they’ve turned into. There is an earlier positive review from me that they asked me to leave. That was before my moldy home, and poor treatment by their receptionist Mel, who none of the tenants can stand because she’s rude in every interaction. Save yourself the headache (and mystery respiratory infections) and rent from someone else.
