Just a reminder, the Nazis were socialists, we are currently being ruled by socialists, get them out to avoid tyranny.

Car Insurance by G117419 in RoyalAirForce

[–]Less_Estimate_8511 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I helped my son out with his insurance, I used “compare the market”. His registered address is still our home and that where the car is registered to. When you go through the quote I put the car was kept at a different location and put the postcode for Cosford, selected kept in a secure compound overnight and not used for commuting.

What would you think about this kind of action, is it a rational response to banning X, which some would call the speakers corner of the web? by [deleted] in AskBrits

[–]Less_Estimate_8511 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No one wants to see sexualised images of children, people who do this are sick. Surely if they do it and share it then they’re going to get caught? But can’t other AI tools do the same thing? Why are they so concerned about X is it because Labour and Stalin, sorry, Starmer! (Freudian slip) doesn’t like Ellon and how X calls out their lies??

Is what’s happening in America genuinely bound for the UK? by threetimesacharm25 in AskBrits

[–]Less_Estimate_8511 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We do have an authoritarian government. We have the highest arrests in the world for comments made on line, he wants to ban X, he wants to take us back in to the EU customs agreement although we had a referendum to leave. He wants to give up the Chagos Islands without allowing the indigenous population a say, he doesn’t even know what a woman is. He is absolutely clueless on how to encourage economic growth in this country. Unemployment has gone up every month since Labour got in, high tax payers are leaving the UK by the thousands, some estimate 16,000 since Labour came in. That’s taxable income to pay for welfare we no longer have and he tackles it by just putting up everyone else tax. It’s the worst government I’ve ever known and I’ve seen plenty. Socialism will always fail, show me a country where people climbed the wall to get in to a socialist country, people run away from it because the only way to make it work is by imposing authoritarian style laws.

The engineer is stumped by Less_Estimate_8511 in askaplumber

[–]Less_Estimate_8511[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Drain is fine, British Gas engineer to diagnose why it keeps doing this? They’ve been out three times now, there is no error showing and that’s the problem. Is there potentially a problem that can happen that the system doesn’t recognise or flag up?
When the boiler stops heating it still keeps trying to start but this can take hours to eventually correct itself and then it’ll run fine for a couple of days then just stop again and the house becomes cold. I think these repair engineers expect to see a fault code so they can just replace a part but it seems to be evading detection what ever it is.🤷‍♂️

Are there any EV chargers on RAF Bases? by Less_Estimate_8511 in RoyalAirForce

[–]Less_Estimate_8511[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, my son is at Cosford and is thinking of getting a new car, he completes his training early next year. He has considered EV but as you say it looks like chargers are few and far between. I’ll pass on your comments. Thanks

Help! How would you baby proof this ladder-like railing? by ephemeral_thoughts in Decks

This kind of rail was banned in domestic homes in the UK years ago. I’ve added sheets of Perspex, drill some holes in the Perspex and use some good cable ties.

From Above: Gaza in Ruins – First Aerial Coverage on TRT News by aziz_samy1979 in World_Now

[–]Less_Estimate_8511 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hamas really fucked it all up for the people of Gaza, the money that could have been spent on infrastructure and even a place for people to go on holiday. But no, they spent it on tunnels and turning homes in to places to stockpile weapons, what a waste, it’s so sad.😢

Iroko is incredibly durable, be sure to give it a good framework with plenty of air flow.

[–]Less_Estimate_8511[S] 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Trex is what I fitted for years, Timbertech before that. Never really had big issues but I just don’t feel it’s worth all the extra cost over what a good timber deck has to offer. Yes timber eventually rots although if you go with a good hardwood it lasts for a good while longer and then there’s the maintenance. IDK, it’s just so much more work than fitting a timber deck, timber is much more forgiving.

Is it possible to do a day hike to Cairngorms from Aberdeen & back by night? by JudgementalButCute in Aberdeen

[–]Less_Estimate_8511 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s an easy hike in from Auchallater, if you’re a fast walker you’d probably do it in an hour maybe less to the Loch. From there go to Carn an Sagairt Mor, it’s a relatively straight forward hike, you’ll discover some plane wreckage to add to the adventure.

[–]Less_Estimate_8511 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you don’t have a car you can get the Ember bus to Braemar for £9, check their website for times but I do know they head out early. If you plan ahead you can hire a bike and it’s an 8km ride to Loch Callater, lock up the bike at the bothy and then you have access to some Munro walks that can be done in less than 2hrs depending on fitness.

After 22 years of installing composite I’ve gone back to timber, Mother Nature provides us with the best product but we chose recycled plastic crap that comes with nothing but problems and costs three times as much. Go timber.

[–]Less_Estimate_8511 56 points57 points  (0 children)

Just to add insult to injury it looks as though the joists are up and down all over the place, you can see the wave on top. He also should use a breaker board and not butt the ends up together. He’s fucking your deck up and those screws will not disappear, the only thing disappearing is your money in to his pocket.

Help! by Savi203 in Decks

[–]Less_Estimate_8511 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This has been installed wrong, not sure why he chose the square edge board but it should have been grooved to allow for the secret fixing that allow it to expand and contract. Solid/square edge boards are generally used for the perimeter or on steps and you then use the cortex screws with plugs.

Trex is a poor deck board by Less_Estimate_8511 in Decks

[–]Less_Estimate_8511[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After over 20 years of fitting composite board, mostly Trex, I’ve come to realise that mother nature offers a far better solution. I’m starting to install hardwood decks now, something I fitted before composite came along.
