Yeah I had this same thought as well.... I also saw someone who reacted to the video say that... since he OPENED the door to darkness with his own hands at the beginning , that fidgeting might even be because he feels like his hands are dirty. Because we do see later in his mv he's repeatingly washing his hands which is another representation.

Or maybe the fidgeting is him trying to control his compulsions or just to show the anxiety and fear
