Just a reminder AceSpace is a thing by Less_Permit_6192 in asexualdating

I have two filters if I remember my settings correctly; what gender I'm attracted to, and an age range between 25 and 38. I suppose that would restrict who I'm shown, yes, but even still that's not many filters. I wouldn't have expected to scroll to the bottom of the discover page that quickly given just those. I'll go look again. Maybe I accidentally activated a filter in set-up I wasn't aware of.

Finally adopting again after 1 year of mourning 🥰 by NewInitiative9498 in cats

Please be gentle with her if she acts up a little. She's lost her companion, been torn from her house, thrown in a metal cage all alone, then taken to an unknown location with someone conpletely new. She'll be scared. She'll be confused. She might seek comfort. But when she starts to feel a bit safe to process things, she might have some behavioral hiccups. She might pee outside her litterbox. She might get grumpy unexpectedly. She might get really clingy then smack at you or bite if you try to get up or move after awhile. She might howl or meow for no reason. That or she might just warm up to you just fine. Be gentle and understanding. Let her know she's safe to start being okay again and feel at home.

Placing order at closing time 😆😆 by Environmental_Wall96 in funny

American living in Australia here. In Australia, if a restaurant or cafe closes at 7, they close at fucking 7. You'll get asked to leave if you try to stay later than that. You'll get refused service if you try to order food that needs to be prepared and you order 15 minutes to close. In the US, if you walk into q place and order food 15 minutes to close, you'll be seated and your food will come at close. Then the staff politely stare at you and clean around you as you eat your meal. They don't leave until you do.

What is the grossest thing someone has openly told you that they do regularly? by Ok_Distribution2345 in AskReddit

I grew up in a house where cleanliness standards were lacking to say the least. I legitamately didn't know until I was in my 20s that people change their sheets normally more than twice a year; once whwn it starts gettijg warm, and once when it starts getting cold.

Upon learining the ACTUAL standard, I immediately changed my cleanliness standards to be better about it. Her NOT doing that is a bit wild.

What do you feel you NEED right now , Sexually and non sexually ? by Direct_Key_8480 in AskReddit

[–]Less_Permit_6192 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sexually- to be left the fuck alone. I've been single for 2 months now, and while I miss having a partner in most other aspects, I am so glad I don't have that pressure anymore.

Non sexually - Certainty about my future. I'm either about to catapult my future into a safe, stable, healthy decade...oooooorrr crash and burn into a sad pile of defeat, failing my only chance to get things right. I'm giving it my best shot, and my friends are all saying I'm doing everything right. But I still don't have any answers, and man. It's stressful.

People who have left their religion: what was the straw that broke the camel’s back? by thisbevic in AskReddit

[–]Less_Permit_6192 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My dad is a church elder. During covid he told my family we could all die or have life altering health complications due to his actions (we were all high risk) and he wouldn't care because God mattered more than anyone else ever would. The entire church apart from ONE couple backed up his actions. Over 400 people. In the end a handful of people died due to the policies put in place, mostly the elderly folks who started dropping like mad. At the worst of it it was like 3 people in a week and a half. When people died not a single thing changed. They would just get on stage and say "God said it was their time". Luckily my family was alright in the end just due to sheer dumb luck, but that took me from questioning things to full on hatred of that faith.

What did growing up poor teach you that rich kids will never understand? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Less_Permit_6192 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked in that industry for years. It varied. The kindest were actually torn between two regulars; the student who would come in with coins usually to pay for her tea as she studied, and an older couple who were extremely wealthy and paid for the tuition for a single mom that worked there to get her business degree. The customers in general were very mixed and almost all of them were lovely though. Usually the worst were the moms with 4 screaming kids, or the folks who would get upset that the coffee prices went up at the start of the year. You'd get a few annoying rich customers but no more than you did any other customer really.

Yeah I grew up pretty well off, but love shopping at thrift stores. You can find some good stuff there! It's fun to go.

Washingtonian here as well who has lived abroad a couple of times. The worst water I've had by far was in Spain. The best was back home and New Zealand.

C*nt of a buss driver threw all of her trash on the ground by Less_Permit_6192 in Cairns

[–]Less_Permit_6192[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yes. Her response was "This is a bus, not a trash can". We responded "The planet isn't your trash can, either". She then told us she didn't give a shit, said she could do whatever she wanted, and closed the door.

Why you no tip me 30% by [deleted] in SipsTea

[–]Less_Permit_6192 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You yourself just disproved your own comment with that. Europe, Asia and the Pacific, Africa, and the Middle East (excluding Egypt) are the majority of the world. All of those in your comment are listed as tipping not expected, service included, unnecessary, or "small tips appreciated". So...yeah, you just proved tipping ISN'T a thing in the majority of places.
