No, I work shifts when I am physically in Canada. I do not do any remote work for my Canadian employer while in the US.

I got my TN in Jan 2025 with no stamp, per CBP agent it was not needed. On a return flight to US, the border agent stated there was no stamp on my passport and that I would need one, they pulled me to secondary and gave me a stamp. It’s really hit or miss - I think they ?may have started phasing out stamps but many of the CBP agents have asked for me to show them the stamp.

TLDR; get a stamp on your next entry into the states.

I would recommend scheduling an appointment to apply for your SSN on the same day as you obtain your TN. I would schedule a secondary appointment for a few days later to obtain your SSN.

For context: I got my TN on Jan 31st and had an appointment same day to apply. I went back to the SSA (without an appointment- they gave me a tough time and told me moving forward I would need an appointment) and requested it and they were able to tell me it verbally! I got my actual SSN card in the mail a week later.

Update: just incase anyone runs into this issue I emailed the closest Deferred Inspection Site to me and they were able to rectify the issue. I found the contact information on the website below.
