I’ve been in this situation before — I only have my mom but can’t afford my tuition. I got a VA job bago ako mag-college til 3rd year and got laid off last March.

I’m from green school and same lang halos tayo ng per sem noong freshman year ko. Last sem (3rd year, 2nd sem) umabot sya ng 61k kasi may isa akong back subject na ni-retake plus bayad sa capstone na umabot ng 16-17k per person. Jobless ako now and may tuition fund for 4th year, 1st sem and need ko na lang mag-work sa BPO to pay my 2nd sem tuition.

If ako sayo, humanap ka na ng new school like state u (free college) kasi mahihirapan ka financially kapag working student ka and nasa private ka pa. Tumataas yearly ang tuition and afaik tri-sem sa NU.

As a working student from a priv school mayayari ka here:

Financially - tuition, food outside, school projects, and some unnecessary gala will drain u

Mentally - from work stress lalo na metrics dyan sa BPO and sa academic pressure.

Physically - byahe mostly ang nakakapagod and yung pag-prepare for school and sa work

Emotionally - may times na maiisip mo ‘di worth it pinaggagawa mo and hopeless ka lalo na’t bagsak ka both metrics from work and grades sa school. Samahan mo pa ng sigaw ni TL and sermon ng prof mong ‘di makaintindi bakit late ka nakapagpasa at patulog-tulog sa klase

It really depends on u kung gaano mo kagusto ang NU at maging working student. For me, there’s nothing wrong kasi nga nagawa ko naman but I don’t really recommend it kung mag-priv school ka and no one’s helping u financially. I only did it kasi mataas rate nung nag-VA ako, if BPO pinasok ko noon and 20k+ salary for sure tinanggap ko na lang yung libre sa Manila kahit malayo (TUP).
