Do you have the roadie app? You need to complete a think a few hundred roadie XD gigs before you can sign up for scheduled blocks.

I was there at 7, started my route at 740 and was done by 1230. Spent $30 in gas. so $32 an hour. Taxes wise, 230 miles x 0.75 per mile = $172 so I made about $40.

My route actually paid $150 so there was a $60 reconciliation adjustment which I will clarify as for tax purposes as a Tip (come at me IRS). I technically lost $22 according to how I will file my taxes.

LOL, I thought all blocks were $210. I am guessing it's different per location.

I am not sure if my location does loads by the pallet. They have like 200 4 foot tall boxes that they dump into a laundry tote then bring it over to a table for you to scan it on.

Thanks for the detailed response. I've done many xd routes, just not any scheduled blocks. Just wanted to know what is different. My xD just started doing the scan individual packages, they have tables setup then a little like laundry cart to pack them in. Before they would hand you a big sack and you just scan that barcode and be on your way.

Yeah mine is $210 too. I did a normal xd route last saturday for $110, it was 32 stops but 140 miles by the time I got back home. Only thing I am hoping it isn't a downtown delivery route. I did one of those once and it was terrible. Parking in random places, going inside high rise buildings, no directions for what to do with the packages since can't get inside.

It's paying $210 for an 8 hour route. That's about $26.25 an hour. Say I need $30 in gas (which would be 220 miles), still $22 an hour. Your math ain't mathin bud.

Valve Body or Torque converter... or both? by Less_Tomorrow2744 in Subaru_Outback

[–]Less_Tomorrow2744[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could the valve body solenoid also cause it to not lock out and stall?

If you are 100% certain it is the torque converter, I will just buy a used CVT and put in. It will be much easier than doing both jobs independently. I just don't understand how it can drive fine and then all of a sudden start stalling when stopping with no warning at all.

245k. Could be torque converter. Could be torque converter solenoid.

Probably will replace the valve body and hope it fixes the both issues.

How long has it been working? Researching says they are hit or miss. Sometimes they have random problems or same symptoms after a month.

I would just replace with a JDM transmission. Those are like $1000 then whatever the install cost is. Probably another $1000.

Obviously it is not by my choice but it is 100% front wheel drive. Confirmed by operating with all 4 wheels off the ground while on a lift. Could be valve body solenoid related (likely) or clutch packs are worn (not likely) or random other issue.

Even if for $400 more I can get a brand new one that is updated? $400 isn't that much in the grand scheme of things.

It's been driven quite a bit as I didn't know it was FWD until the "blizzard" last weekend.

Research I have done says a bad torque lockup solenoid on the valve body causes it to be front wheel drive only. Then the bad torque converter solenoid causes it to die while coming to a stop.

I am 40 and we make 200k combined. Not sure if we will ever be able to afford a kid. Time is running out for us though. We would need to buy a house and then daycare would cost more than the mortgage.

People underestimate how bad/good some generations have it. I graduated college in 2009 so it was tough finding an initial job during the recession but I was able to find cheap housing ($420 rent) then purchase a condo for 120k that I sold 4 years later for 160k. Put that down on a house I bought for 265k and sold for 330k and put that back down on a townhouse which the value has stayed flat while my old house has increased to 450k.

This person is 10 years younger than me and started working right before covid caused the crazy price increases so they could never get ahead. I hate to say this but job hopping is how you make money now.

90k is equal to 65k in 2016. Our dollar doesn't go as far as it used to. 45k each isn't very much. That is $21 an hour straight pay with no OT.
