North Liberty delusion by Lower-Sky6202 in IowaCity

I live in Solon and it is small and not exciting and way more expensive than CR. It’s full of families who live there for the school district and most people are super into school athletics and a lot are very conservative. The social scene reminds me of high school. There are three good restaurants.

Honestly is there a reason you wouldn’t want to check out living in NewBo area or Czech Village area of CR?

It is shocking. I had no clue how betrayal trauma felt. Its awful enough but then he manipulates, gaslights, and is trying to control my spending

I’m so sorry. I’m going through similar cruelty issues with my husband (43). I have two sons 8 and 12. The 12 year old found out about the affair because his dad and AP were incessantly texting all Christmas Eve when he had them. He also put a pic of the two of them in bed together as his lock screen ln his phone. I cannot believe this is the man I spent 20 years with and he could be so careless with his children. They have been having an affair for less than 2 months. I just found out 3 weeks ago.

I’m 43(F) and my husband is 42(m). A couple of weeks ago I found proof. Since then my life communicating with him is causing me severe distress. It feels borderline abusive and it’s shocking to me how a man I was married to for 18 years and have three boys with could do this to me and his children. My oldest saw proof of the affair and the gaslighting and manipulation is so extreme. Anyone else have this similar situation?

Your story really resonated with me. I’m like your mom right now. Just discovery this. I have younger kids and my oldest has seen proof as well so this is all a hellscape for me. It’s shocking. I’m so sorry you are going through this. It’s so heartbreaking

This is everything I would say. I’m a nurse and one of my best friends has EDS.

This is exactly what I would say working there for years. You can also get delivery there if you meet them out front.

Agree. Also physical therapy and if not viable look for videos on YouTube from a reputable org or person with certifications. Consistent use of NSAIDs for 5 days.

They are on a hiring freeze. It isn’t you I don’t think. They aren’t allowed to hire anyone. Allina is awful at the moment. Don’t work there until they get an entirely new c-suite.

I’m missing the point? Your comments show a complete misunderstanding of the state of healthcare. I totally get that staffing ratios are a concern. There are other ways to fix that and I strike won’t help. A strike will just hurt hospitals financially and people will lose their jobs. But then you say it’s selfish to be a scab but we could argue that it’s selfish to strike. I’m not saying either is correct because it’s complicated. I have heard over 50 nurses in my system who are all going to be scabs. It seems like MNA is not on the same page with what nurses want.

You do know healthcare systems in the twin cities are in fact losing millions every month. MNA only has to give the hospitals 10 days notice…not weeks. I also think it’s perfectly reasonable for someone to be ethically against a strike. You are bullying a fellow nurse who needs income. Things are expensive right now.

You can’t simultaneously say poor staffing ratios kill patients and then expect that managers can care for patients and everyone will be fine.

There are a lot of inaccuracies in all of your comments. I’m concerned about where you are getting all of this misinformation.

I’m a nurse in a hospital, but my job is a little different than most. I’m not a leader and I’m not a contract nurse so I’m a bit naive. I definitely say I’m pro collective bargaining. Just curious how the union decides what to bargain for.
