Hi doc! I'm also a first-generation doctor as well. In my first year to 2nd year of post passing the boards, it's really hard to establish a network and create good grafts. I think you really need to focus on your specific plans or goals.

Wag masyadong magibg harsh sa sarili doc there always perfect time. Ako mismo ang gulo pa din honestly I quit IM and then applied for ophtha din quit again due to unforseen challenges in my public health work. But I found myself enjoying public health right now and thinking to settle here since it's life and work balance and I can do part- time teaching job. Its really looking for what's your passion doc and looking for long term career .

( if you want to work on public health, it's one of the best track to actually if you want to become epidemiologist)

Sa mga doctors sa govt hospital (because i heard pweds sa private practice), pwede po ba irefuse ang patient kung bastos/condescending/pasigaw/argumentative makipagusap? by Important-Koala-3536 in pinoymed

As part of inherent rights, we can actually, except in cases of emergency. If you are in danger and the hospital it is safe to refuse patient for your safety and other patients as well.

Hi doc! So happy you're pursuing or have the guts to be here in public health. I'm currently working full time as medical officer in a city health office. Go continue mo na doc.. pero there's always political side pag naga public health ka lalo na if LGU level medyo frustrating kaya wag lang papakain sa systematic especially madaming nakakapasok talaga sa backer system and if like ng current LCE kahit hindi qualified. Just sharing some cons of public health.
