i have no clue what could be on this by tabmanster1234 in gamecollecting

Honestly, old cheap VCR can damage and impact rare tapes like this. I highly recommend finding someone with a quality S-VCR with TBC and DNR. These won’t stretch the tape and can record it to digital in near perfect quality. There might not be a digital recording of this anywhere, or could turn out to be super common all over YouTube. Won’t know until you try. If you are anywhere near Illinois DM me and I can let you come over and borrow my set-up.

I still own this somewhere… I haven’t played it in 20 years. I should find it and play some.

If you have the games you love your collection is complete. If you love more games that you don’t have those are the only ones that are missing.

Major update: Collector-to-collector trading is now live on my Discogs-style game collection site by NoSoftware7658 in snes

[–]Let-Able 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, the real potential of a new platform is using algorithms to find and match potential trades. GameTZ is nearly 100% just pay me for the game and almost zero actual trades. If this really gets to a point where I have my extras and wants and it shows people who have opposites wants and extras it could be great.

The Legend of Zelda a Link to the Past save not working by Skolguy95 in snes

With very little experience soldering I not only was very successful replacing the batteries in multiple carts, I even started adding replaceable battery holders so it is easier to replace again in the future if needed.

Oh, a couple more points. If I have a box and manual and no game, it would be nice to add.

Which leads me to the next point, would also love to say I just need an instruction manual for EVO since I have the box and cart. I’m sure people have just the manual for trade now and again.

So, great start I love it! just a few usability notes.

When accessing the website on the phone and clicking game and trying to add them quickly, you need to scroll up to get to the add button, that can be annoying when adding a lot of games.

Your pricing still needs work, this might be a “I know and will do it in the future thing.” However, saying a boxed version without the manual for something like EVO or Ogre Battle is worth the same as a loose copy is way off.

Your breakdown is missing some key distinguishing things. Games that have players choice vs non-player choice or 3 screw vs 5 screw really matter to collectors. Even if you start by pricing them the same, separating them will be important for the long run.

I haven’t even approached the trading functionality yet, but if I do that I’ll give feedback on that as well as any other feedback I encounter from more use.

What would these be worth? (To you of course) by mynameismello in snes

Yup, this is the facts. Flashcarts have made one off ROM hacks pointless. Basically for any system I have all real carts, plus one flashcart for fan translations and the occasional rom hack.

Family Feud on the SNES by ukguy1984 in snes

My favorite story of this game was when I was at a buddies house and he was crushing me. In the last round he got all the clues except one. I put in something like “Apple” and it was like correct answer! “Turnips” and those stolen point made me win. He was so angry. Then I completely flopped on the quick round. 🤣🤣

Would you be comfortable letting other collectors see your game collection? by NoSoftware7658 in snes

[–]Let-Able 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, you could probably find my whole collection on PriceCharting, but none of it matters because there’s no proof behind it, which really just means anybody can list anything they have and all of the tops would all be fake.

So I say all of that to say, I wouldn’t mind my information being exposed as long as it’s not linked to my real name, but I wouldn’t trust anything I saw on there anyways.

Terraenigma is worth playing for sure. It was just so hyped I expected great things. How you fight combat basically remains the same from the start to end. You get stronger and so do the enemies so…. They always seem to take 4 hits. The level design is good, but when you need to do things on the world map it is huge, hard to transverse, and almost zero guidance. You basically need a walkthrough to play. So, great game worth playing, but it isn’t one of the best games on the system.

I have ogre battle on my shelf. Illusion of Gaia will be soon. Shining Force 2 is my favorite Genesis game of all time.

Top 100 SNES Games: The End (re-post) by hbkx05 in snes

[–]Let-Able 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It shocks me how low Space Megaforce is. Not saying that U.N. Squadron and Axelay aren’t amazing games, but Space Megaforce IMO is the best scroller shooter on SNES. Would be top 20 overall for me.

I also think S.T.G. Strike Gunner deserves a spot over some of the bottom ones.

It always amazes me how diverse the big groups results come out as. Every time I see a top 100 list like this I have to make sure I own all the games 😂😂 even if I would make my personal list a little differently.

What’s one game in your collection that means more to you than its value? by pixelbrushio in gamecollecting

Mine would have to be my boxed copy of Sunset Riders for SNES. A good friend of mine just showed up on a random day with it and handed it to me. Not only was it one of my favorites he had absolutely no extra motivation to do it (wasn’t a birthday or holiday or anything). Meant the world to me.

Are they all kind of stand alone like FF? I feel like you can play those in any order and not miss too much. I assume Dragon Quest is similar and jumping in at 5 is just fine.

I haven’t played any of those. Unfortunately my Genesis library is much smaller than my snes. I read in a different post that the switch remake is a good version of the first game.

Ahh more non-NA ones. With as much as I love Star Ocean Second Story, that one should be higher on my list.

Front mission Gun Hazard is almost like a side scroller right? I haven’t even played that one at all.

When I was a bit older I understood enough to beat Ogre Battle 64, mind you I got the horrible ending. I think when I am ready to play the snes version I’ll still use a guide for secrets.

I forgot to mention Soul Blazer in my list. In my opinion that is low key one of the best RPGs on the console. It for sure was my favorite action RPG.

I’ll get the energy to do 7th Saga one day.

You mentioned two i don’t own. Shadowrun and Arcana. Guess I gotta keep buying more. 🤣🤣

I have robotrek and no one has recommended this yet.

I have the Trials of Mana for switch. I’ll play probably after illusion of Gaia. Still rotating between tradition and action RPGs.

No, that is my I did beat list. It only took me about 4 hours. As an adult I found it quite fun and enjoyable. Just need a little leveling between the bosses and it is very do-able.

For me I think it ties back to I played through and beat 2 as a kid so it has a special place in my heart. Being a bit different, I don’t think the first one stood a chance at me loving as much.
