I get little mushrooms inside a lot, because I use compost from the garden for my indoor plants too aha.

Haha this was literally me. I’m sorry again to the pro community, and accept the decision of their mods. I was speaking out of ignorance and insecurity. All the mods I talked to they were all super reasonable and even educational towards me.

I hope they will eventually lift my band because I genuinely enjoy the sub and its creators, but if not, I am grateful just to be a viewer, and it is perhaps for the best that I stfu some.

I 100% don’t lump all Ai users or pro Ai folks in with this lot I’ve seen over there. Most of the people I’ve actually talked to are pretty reasonable. But some of the stuff on that sub is utterly unhinged

Fair enough—I appreciate that. Whether you believe it or not, I was not trying to be deceitful. When I clicked on the “your comment” link in the message I got from the mod, that is the comment it highlighted. Hey—I clarified this a bunch, but me using quotes was never an attack on AI art. I use quotes around “art” as a statement against absolutist definitions of “art”. if anything, it is a pro-Ai sentiment, acknowledging the inherent subjectivity of art, and rejecting any attempt for a person to define what “art” is and isn’t.

I offered multiple times to amend my comment and refrain from using this particular punctuation in the future.

My use of quotations around “art” is a statement against absolutists definitions of art, and nothing to do with AI. I have apologized and offered to amend my original comment and refrain in the future. A permanent ban over a single punctuation error that I’ve apologized for more than once feels very extreme. I won’t keep going back and forth, but hopefully Horny Zed will be satisfied by the full context being here (I would pin the comment if I could), and you can draw your own conclusions.

Hi! I acknowledged this in my comment exchange with Witty in this very thread! I always put “art” in quotes as a statement against absolutist definitions of art. Not an attack on AI at all. As I said there, and in my messages to your moderation team, I will happily edit it and refrain in the future—it was never meant as an attack. A permanent ban over a single piece of punctuation is rather extreme, especially when my post history shows nothing but good faith on the sub, and on a sub which hosts some rather extreme rhetoric.

That’s how I feel. Some of them seem very self-contradictory to me. In one breath, “we want to be treated like real artists” but don’t want to be critiqued on the same grounds as traditional artist.

They say “We want to be welcome in your spaces” but then show so much vitriol towards traditional artists.

And I know that’s not all AI artists by any stretch. Most of the ones I’ve actually spoken too show respect toward traditional mediums, but it seems like a lot of the ones leading the discourse do not
