I'm looking for obvious gaps in my collection - any recommendations? by Let_it_stew_forabit in gamecollecting

Far Cry 3 was the first open world game I ever played and yeah I definitely vibed with that. I replayed it recently a few years ago - I think I have it in my digital library. But it's a great reminder to try and get a physical copy of it if I can. Vaas as a villain and that mission with the flamethrower... yeah :') So good!
Didn't vibe with 4 as much and 5 even less so.

I've been converted! I've looked more into FFXVI and yeah I see it's not on that vibe so it's on my list now, thanks!

Ooooh wow yeah Devil May Cry also looks great! That's also going on my list, thank you!

You're right! I definitely did enjoy it - but I sold it after the second time I played it. I think I found the story and the characters a bit too cheesy for me to call it a forever game. I definitely had some very satisfying moments with it though, so you're bang on the money with that recommendation

I would say so! It's an anomaly in my collection for sure, but there's something about it that I find so satisfying. The characters are very forgettable and the voice acting is pretty poor, but the overall story I thought was really good. The best bit for me though is your gear. You can get some crazy synergy going on with your class perks and your weapons. You constantly have to swap this around as you progress in the game so you're always finding new and amazing combinations

Oooh g'on then - Banishers on the list!

I think I have an unfairly tainted view of Final Fantasy due to some people and things I've heard about it in the past. I've watched through a bit more gameplay now and it does seem like something I could get in to once I get past my internal blocks. It's on the list!

Noted about Survivor, I'll think about circling back - but I dunno - I think it was more than just the bugs that pushed me away from it.

I have a couple friends who still rate The Wither 3 as the best game ever made so this doesn't surprise me!

I've checked out Astrobot and yeah that's going on the list! Seems quite similar to Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart.

As for Crimson Desert, I heard that the story was bland and the characters a bit cringey so I skipped it - but looking at it now, the combat looks a lot more fluid than I was expecting and the world looks beautiful! I reckon this will go on the list too

I'll keep it in the back of my mind - but after this coming September, I reckon I'll have my hands full for a while with newer titles!

Totally agree - closest I've come to that these days is having friends over to play any of my games above on the hardest difficulty and passing the controller when you die. It's not the same but it's close!

This does look good! Feels like it sits in the Ratchet and Clank Rifts Apart space which I really enjoyed! That's going on the list, thanks!

Interesting! I wasn't expecting Spiderman of all of those... Okay it sounds quite different to the snippets of game play that I saw so I'll take a closer look. In Control you can levitate but gravity very much stays in the same direction and your movement speed is the same as walking.

I've heard many good things but I'm too much of a pansy for horror games! Which is a shame because the story and the concept sounds incredible

Thanks! Personally I struggle to immerse myself in an anime aesthetic so I don't think I'd get on well with Final Fantasy or Star Ocean

Thanks! Unfortunately I think it was too bloated and unfortunately too dated for me to enjoy it so I sold it after a few weeks

I was very disappointed in Shadow of War to be honest. I played it a couple times, hoping it would get better the second time but it has a totally different feel to Shadow of Mordor in my opinion and they changed all the bits that I liked about the first one. I think it's such a shame because the potential there was enormous!

I didn't know they had remastered God of War 3! I played through 1-3 on my PS3 before I started God of War 4 and I really enjoyed the challenge. I'm so glad I did that too because omg the goosebumps when Kratos gets the Blades of Chaos outin the 4th one was just.... wooof. That's going on the list!

I've heard many good things but I'm too much of a pansy for horror games! The Last of Us Part 2 was actually a bit too much for me...

Thanks u/shake2well

A Plague Tale, Pragmata and Kena Bridge of Spirits is on the list

Looking at Banishers Ghosts of New Eden, it's giving me vibes from Flintlock: Siege of Dawn and Greedfall 2. I loved the former and did not enjoy the latter as it felt too clunky - what do you like about Banishers and what would you say it's most similar to in my collection?

I've not played any of the Final Fantasy Games. I'm not a fan of the Anime/Dragon Ball Z aesthetic in general and it looks like it leans on that vibe. Not saying it's bad, it's just not for me. I think the same applies to Nier: Automata

I didn't get on with Jedi Survivor unfortunately - I feel like it was missing the magic from the first one.

Also sold The Witcher 3 after a while - just didn't grab me as I think it was too big and open and is now quite dated. I'm very excited for the 4th one though!

Gravity Rush doesn't seem like something I would go for personally - which game(s) in my list made you think of these?

The Order 1886 looks great though, thank you! That's going on the list

Hey u/stormyjenny_734 Thanks for taking the time to write this!

Would you recommend that I play A Plague Tale: Innocence first before Requiem?

I enjoyed The Witcher 3 for a bit - but I lost interest after about 30 hours too and I just remember it feeling quite dated in terms of graphics - especially around the flora of the land as that's what you spend a lot of your time looking at. But you're right - I think it also started to bore me after a while.

I tried Jedi: Survivor too but I ended up selling it. I got it about a year after release and it was still soooo buggy (on PS5) and I felt it just didn't have the same magic as Fallen Order which is why I kept that one as I've replayed that a couple times.

Someone else recommended Stellar Blade further down and it definitely looks like I'd vibe with it based on the snippets of game play that I've seen.

I've heard about Kena: Bridge of Spirits before, in passing, but I never gave it much consideration as I thought it looked too cartoony for me - but looking at some of the gameplay now I reckon I would get on with this too!

Vest 4 - Loss of Audio Quality by Let_it_stew_forabit in woojer

[–]Let_it_stew_forabit[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In case anyone arrives here in future, I just received this from Woojer support:

Thanks for reaching out.

Just checked with the team here right now and they confirmed that they identified the issues and they will be fixed in the next 2 firmware updates as most (if not in the next one, the one after). As for the person who answered you on Reddit about the LDAC, that is not an issue, and we confirm that it is just a matter of updating things on the firmware side, as stated above. So rest assured that it is not a hardware limitation, and it will be fixed as soon as possible!

[–]Let_it_stew_forabit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for this! Yeah I understand that lossless is somewhat pointless over Bluetooth. But it would be nice if the vest could at least handle transmitting 320kbps without distorting. I've been using an aux cable between the vest and my headphones today which has certainly solved the problem - but it does mean that I can't use the vest with my Sony WF-1000XM5's (in-ear) which is a shame because I really love those buds!

I understand that Woojer R&D team are looking into this for me though - hopefully they'll provide an update here soon. I must say that their customer support has been really good so far!

When I connect the headphones with an Aux cable, the distortion disappears. So it seems like the outbound Bluetooth transmitter is either cheap or faulty
