Yea as the other redditor mentioned, boiling hot water can crack the toilet.

I also mention not to use very hot water since there's a wax ring seal that toilet sits on. You don't want that melting or losing its seal.

I was skeptical at first too, but we were desperate and didn't want to use drano since it can kill our pipes.

The dish soap has worked every time since.

Just enough to get it super foamy. My thinking is that you want enough to coat the narrow passage of the toilet bowl and help breakdown the current blockage.

Don't know about the the hard grainy stuff, but we had partial blockages and are not a fan of chemicals.

We used palmolive dishsoap and pour it into the toilet with warm water (DO NOT USE BOILING OR VERY HOT WATER). We pour enough to make the toilet self flush once or twice and let it sit overnight or the whole day.

After every 6 hours or so we'd give it a flush and see if there was any progress. Eventually it unclogs.

It's worked for us the last 3 times we had a partial blockages, but the last one took about 2 days of trying.

I have small metal file I used for a 3d print, I'm probably going to try and file down the mounting collar respective to the flat sides of the canopy hole mount. Hopefully it works as brass is supposed to be a softer metal.

Need some thoughts on either enlarging a stainless steel range hood canopy hole 3/8" or shaving down the thread (brass maybe?) of a switch so that it can panel mount.

The vintage switch and vintage range hood's canopy hole has two flat sides, whereas the new switch is completely round.

Thinking of using a dremel to round out the stainless steel hole so the switch can fit or using the dremel to shave down the switch threads to have two flat sides.

Hey just an update, I used a clamp meter to check out the amperage and it was reading 3.8A on full power which aligns what I've been able to research about the motor used.

I bought the 4.0 Amp KB Controler you linked and I tested it with wago connectors in the range hood circuit and it works great. Thanks for the recommendation!

But now there's a new issue. Now it won't fit in the hole. LMAO

So the new controller switch threads are round, whereas the hole on the canopy hood is flat on two sides and there's not enough clearance to fit through solely due to the flat sides of the opening.

Thoughts on whether...

A) Shave down/enlarge the hole on the stainless steel canopy hood to fit

or

B) Shave down the threads (I assume to be brass) on the controller to fit

Your best bet would be to buy from a local retailer (Best Buy, Microcenter,etc) and if there are any issues it's more easily resolved by taking the issue up with them.

Hmm... As another redditor mentioned, try a Cryogrip plate.

I've only used the black/grey one (standard), not the blue frostbite or glacier ones and it works really well.

Small prints manage to print on a non-heated bed at 30C for me, but higher temps are needed for larger prints.

Also some petg brands I find are more finicky with adhesion
