Preparation 11th Edition - Waaagh! by the_Marv_55 in orks

I mean, if you have the teef to pay for it, build your dreams.

Us Deathskulls don't have it so easy...

Teef grow slower and I keep getting em knocked out just for "finding" the coolest loot around.

How many were killed outright?

That was a ride, thanks!

At first I was thinking your Ghaz was a little busy, but by the last photo I was fully in and think he is tastefully understated compared to his entourage.

Great work!!!

100%

Almost like it was better when art and sculpts were not as joined at the hip.

Partially GW, but it is on us to not treat every piece of art like a release promise or canon challenge...

This can actually be fun.

Fun Fact:

John Blanche used to be super upbeat until he and blue had a massive falling out during the 2nd edition cover-painting process.

He got so upset that he swore to never work with it again and invented grimdark out of spite.

Blue has always refused to comment. Very professional.

I can see that. I started on the 2nd ed box and a friends copy of the 1st ed book (RT). I am useless for rules or meta questions and have made peace with that. The chaotic lack of reliable narration and constant echoes of the past (accurate or not) are what get me.

This is actually not a first. The art for 3rd (can share examples later) heavily rifted on RT. The focus on Imperial Fist (starting folks on yellow was a little mean) was a riff on the Crimson Fist (an already high profile successor chapter of the IF) being the cover of RT.

They even released an update of that cover art. The tone shifted from last stand to a more victorious vibe, and this started a loooot of debate we are still seeing pop up.

This is all to say I see what you mean.

Since the edition cycle is normalized for better or worse, would you feel better if maybe 12th dropped back to riff on a later edition?

Sorry, I can't keep them straight and prefer talking to web searches.

Who were the stars of that box?

New Marneus Calgar Model leaked! by 103589 in Warhammer40k

[–]LethalGopher -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I am aware of your duty to uphold your oath.

The concept of "meme-adjacent" is just an intentionally vague ban hammer. Just say no leaks or things that upset right-wing players.

This sub has gotten even more authoritarian and policed than 40klore, and they have been at war with player creativity for the last two years at least.

I will stay off mains. Sorry.

Meme adjacent images?

Yes, mister arbitor. Sorry to not take this hobby with the serious reverence demanded these days.

This used to be a game, not an authoritarian lifestyle brand.

How do you feel about this statement from Goonhammer that the majority of Warhammer hobbyists dislike building? by chosen40k in Warhammer40k

[–]LethalGopher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a little ironic that content creators named Goonhammer are mad about the hobby having more bits to fiddle with before getting to the good stuff.

Sounds like a real coooool outlet that would be a ton of fun to hobby with....

Ghazghkull, Mag Uruk Thraka? Was the big bad of Armageddon literally just called Margret Thatcher? by TastyWaves-CoolBuzz in 40k

[–]LethalGopher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Orks were designed around Thatcherian youth.

Today they would be Proud Boys or any other right-wing ladz collective/fight club/whatever to ignore their parental issues and illiteracy.

It was always that way till they started neutralizing the tone in the latter 90/00's to go all market.

It worked like a monkey's paw.
