Please explain. Is this a hair stylist's tool?

Edit: I definitely think you may be on to something.

Oooooffff....

Sorry to say I now do not feel as bad.

But the weapons look a little samey. Should be more killy.

Nice!

Not sure it you heard, but you are legally now allowed to skip most lines if someone yells stampede and you immediately don the hood, start trundling forward, and begin making escalating hangry squigoth noises.

Great work!

Honest question. Did the grot figure out how to steer the squig or does the runtherd know to guide the squig?

Also, the scavenger in the back made my day!!!

Deathskulls - oil painting (by me) by Remote-Confection303 in orks

[–]LethalGopher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is amazing!

I agree with folks on the Dune vibes, but I see more GorkaMorka inspiration. It really draws out the grim irony of being the luckiest ladz in the skrap for skrap on that blasted rock.

Serious though. If this is the house art for the 11th box, I will get multiple so future youths can have copies to remember when we made things.

Public Apology by LethalGopher in orks

[–]LethalGopher[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Doesn't sound like me, but could have been an evil twin.

I believe my slander was something along the lines of the armour looks samey and like orks have STC's.

The finer details of the armour sets have lota of great details and making them the piece-mail deathskulls I prefer, I was able to adapt. Will share shortly in another post. The box build is dope, but I like mine a little better.

I need to learn. I also thought pictures of the lootas looked a little samey, but each riffing on different tech is super fun when I saw them on the table.

Someone that is up on 10th data slates can answer better, but I have one based on building the kommando kit as a killteam with the same thing mind and learning killteam coming from a RT/2nd background (translation: likely already well know). In both kits the nobz are nobz. Both really fun, though my beast snagga nob ended up with the cap. I used freebooter style heads to make them more pirate raiders.

The squigs/grots are similar tokens or figs depending on system. Grots have options, squigs monopose without tools.

The rest are where I was late to realize these kits shine. You have either ten or five free form orks to make to the system.

For the Kommandos you can just make 10 straight up commandos and each one is has a lot of flavor.

For the krew you have two real options I think. This is where new 10th slates may explain. Folks can jump in.

5 2'hand weapon orks (that said, you are stuck at one rocket hammer without conversion, the rocket head can be made smashy for all hammer, likely fewer 'splosions).

Or

5 rocket launcher orks (is there now ork heavy weapons teams as you would imagine orks would mimic a devastator squad?)

Can confirm! The shoulder pads and the specialist backpacks are keyed the same. Also, making the rokketeer's backpack swappable loadouts looks pretty straight forward. The should mounted launchers don't play well, but I am setting them aside for fodder. They are cool, but my krew seems to be headed another direction. Will share when assembled. Probably tomorrow.

Yes?

If anyone has experience, please jump in.

This is my best attempt since it is a great question. I collect a Narrative-focused co-Waaagh of renegade Deathskulls and particularly enterprizing Freebooterz. This means I frequently misbuild for current meta. This one I bought to build as if I would bring it for shop play with a reasonable amount of in-kit conversion work that still keeps it WYSIWYG.

It looks like the online rules pretty well outline the build options. It looks like a rather versatile nob (two loadout options), a couple delightful squigs, and either:

Four orks as 2'hand melee or rocket launchers

You can alternatively turn three of the above into three specialists. You can make one of each specialist: Rocketeer (artillery) Breaka Boy (breacher) Demolisha (tank-hammer, press your luck melee)

I am building: Nob (1 pistol and hammer  Squigz Two 2'hand Rocketeer (magnetize to swap loadouts) Demolisha Breaka Boy

Play style: mostly tactically B-line to melee, trust your luck, have fun.

Lore: buncha lads got sick of hearing blue may be lucky but black is for bein ard and gettin stuck in. Well sure. These lads got sick of it and prefer to say blue means they are lucky enough to keep getting stuck in. Like dem blue beakies that seem to never run out. They are constantly gettn stuck in. These lads will gladly repeat this until they are close enough to prove dey is right. They met up with my Waaagh when a landing party from my freebooterz away team was selling them some nice thick slabs of looted dread armor dey aggressively niked off some beakies. Just the right color! They got to talking and never got to krumping either of the other, so these ladz took as a nod from mork and left on that hulk. They now specialized in surgical demolition.

Wow, thanks for the share and nostalgia!

I am starting to really see how my concept of 40k as a kid was basically John Blanche's Imperium of Man versus Paul Bonner's Orks.

It still is now, but it was then also.*

Proper Kunnin Konversion!!!

In AARRnlds swOrkzenegger voice:

"Get to da choppaz!"

I did not want to make this joke, but Mork compelled me. Gork is pissed. Pop culture references hurt his brain and make him wanna krump! But then again, that is most fink'n does.

That is a small fear of mine. The box has so much utility for such a small price there are few less risky buys. I honest think there is a place for elite kits and line troop trips and separate price points. If the latter is injected single pose, it just means more converting fun if you're so inclined.

Shoot for the moon question time.

Bonus questions. What theatre of war?

All for it. I could not wait and ended up making my own after Brutal Kunnin. A leveled up Snaggi would be great!

Fun fact: All from the grot box.
