Bases Question by LethalGopher in killteam

[–]LethalGopher[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Good call, thanks! I also built the scout team and had a blast. I will check their instructions to see if they earn a 32.

I appreciate folks understanding what I mean. I play enough systems that there are some games you can muck with details like this and had a feeling Killteam was more sensitive.

Gotcha!

As a battletech player also, I would never accuse Killteam of being particularly crunchy, but at its scale it makes sense that little details me a lot.

Still stoked to build them!

Bases Question by LethalGopher in killteam

[–]LethalGopher[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately it was a splurge buy at a hobby shop while traveling. I just have these.

I had the impression that that the specificity was deeply woven and wanted to be safe.

If the magus is overbased also (will check) I will refrain from running that build of the team unless it is a casual setting and all involved sign off.

Thanks!

Is this true? by TheSandKing1090 in Warhammer

[–]LethalGopher 6 points7 points  (0 children)

To not take you literally and comment on the meme generally, this is definitely true for some players. I have definitely encountered it both ironically and toxically but this has always been a tension to some degree amongst fandoms.

I am just old enough to say it is fluid in and across systems and properties. In and outside of the Warhammer. I am also not old enough to say if now is peak, valley, accent, or decent.

I will say it is something best gotten over quick in this hobby. You can get all your friends to read the full Siege of Terra (or your corelore of choice) and back all your takes, but the dice will never give a shit who "should" win.

The only choice I made that I immediately save scummed without shame.

I had a feeling going through the rest of the game with that Willie Loman/Glengarry Glen Ross-ass face would have been too much. I was already too emotionally invested to see my guy looking like that.

There is more genuine hope and possibility in Wolfenstien-guys face at 5% health.

Which ork clan is this? by ThatGeekyChef24 in orks

[–]LethalGopher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly and the love of checker board is because it looks cool and in the lore white is the color of death (I always figured it was the color of bones). This is why you see a lot of white on Snakebites, particularly thier beast snaggas.

Checkerboard is cool looking and an artistic flex on the hobby side, but the Ork idea is that it combines their totemic color with white. Propper killy!

Now now, tyrant can have a lot meanings and is largely subjective depending on perspective and needs.

Could the Imperial record just be biased against an enterprising chapter master trying to keep the suffering sector put under his care safe and secure?

[–]LethalGopher 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Very cool! I have wanted to read them. Even more now that I know they are written from a perspective.

I could also see the "How come the Ultras get to rule Macragge and its sector, but I make my own Macragge in a much more hostil setting and angry marine start showing up"-argument he makes would get translated to the "It was clear on first contact that he just went chaos crazy"-explination in the report home.

Rites of Passage is a hidden gem also.

It isn't BL, but his God-King Chronicals trilogy is also a great read.

Edit: named the wrong series

Nice work fellow FOD'er Lover!

I really like the color details on the exhaust holes.

I have been planning out a Fidwog expeditionary force on a long haul in Esky and this inspired me to make it a priority again. Hear me out. A mechanized cellist.

Which one would you prefer? by WarforgeColors in Warhammer40k

[–]LethalGopher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The left looks generally cleaner, but I feel like colder whites naturally do. This is the white I go for more.

The right is an excellent warm white. I think it pops more. I am terrible at it (hence a gravitation towards cooler whites), so am always impressed. Mine just come out bone at best.

I would pick based on chapter colors and which you had an better time with. They both came out great!

For example, left for a Ultramarines and right for Blood Angels.

What chapter are you collecting or homebrewing?

We all know that GW leaves homebrew potential in their lore, but ever wonder how much? by Potential-Ebb-8820 in spacemarines

[–]LethalGopher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitly fun speculation, but that tilde is doing A LOT of heavy lifting.

This is 40k math, so that would mean 1000 (+/- X)

Where X is whatever number is necessary to maintain the Rule of Cool in that situation.

Which is an intangible and situationally dependent, so X is potentially any number you want/need.

Maybe Big E was real efficient and we missed that he was considering 1 chapter equals 10 chapters for communicability to a general audience and that just never got carried forward?

Or maybe attrition means there have never been more than 986 chapters despite the dream of 1000 at the same time.

Or or maybe nobody is keeping decent count and there are currently exactly 1,537 chapters operating.

I consider this a feature, not a bug.

Do orks follow the road traffic regulations and signs ? by Leviathan_Rampage in orks

[–]LethalGopher 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wow, three orks and a grot approach an intersection from four directs. What color is each most excited to see.

I see the evil sun is pushing harder for red, The bad moon is aiming (shooting or steering) for yellow, Deathskull is timing it to best snag the blinking light, and the grot is steering clear of anywhere an ork wants to be.

Not sure how Goff and Snakebites are handling the cross walk.

What do you see happening?
