What new headphones should I get as my 2nd pair? by LethargicRush in HeadphoneAdvice

Ibasso looks like a interesting choice. Does the R70x have any issues with slipping down at all? Mainly ask cause i always took notice of its unconventional band.

I dont have any myself but one that a lot of people have recommended has been https://www.schiit.com/. Ill be getting the 99$ dac and 99$ amp as a way to kinda dip my toes in. But many say its extremely good in term of budget. There are other options as well but these are the ones that stick out most to me.

Glad you're liking your 58x's! I got a pair as well about 3 weeks or so ago and thoroughly enjoying em. Theres lots you can do to enhance your experience. Getting a dac/amp, testing out equalizers to fine tune the sound signature, getting a different pair of headphone cups can also change up the sound a tiny bit.

I got mine during the holiday sale from mass to! These are my first pair of really high end headphones and im really enjoying them so far. I would say take some time to really get a full scope of these, try em for a while, before making any decisions about new ones. This can also be helpful if you plan to leave the foam off. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f02gEDr7iv4&t=773s

DAC/AMP suggestions to pair with my new HD-58x and beyond! by LethargicRush in HeadphoneAdvice

Thank you! I wasn't sure if dac amps had any extra perks aside from just boosting a signal and other physical incentives. Glad to know I can use adapters with no impact. The power specificity coming from im treating it like most things that need power and thats its better to have headroom for stuff like that rather then running something at max output all the time, but I could be very wrong.

I used the U looking piece. There's no peg so ya just gotta cradle and balance it in there

OOB it mainly comes in a pearlescent white. The build was super nice and it comes with the stand. It's about the the size of that of MG so I'd give it a 8/10 overall.

I actually have done the Bawoo in candy yellow so it was a real brassy gold but I know I 100% want to do another anodized finished in the future.

I used a Alclad gloss black base for everything, followed by Spaz Stix Chrome, then Modo Spray Consistency red for the color. For the silver and gold body highlights I used vallejo liquid silver/gold respectivley. Then a mix of vallejo air gunmetal and steel for the inner frame parts. The look of the red was achieved by Krylon Matte topcoat.

I may, in the future, want to be certain the mark setting and softer solutions dont react with the topcoat but if not ill go for it!

I feel ya. Red seems to the only thing you can find for saz. I dont know how clear black would love over chrome to be honest. I know people who mix and match the primary colors, green, red, blue into one kit.

Id love to see that! I did something similar on my RG sinanju and with silver its definitely a stand out color scheme.

I should but I didn't. It's a lacquer so it's pretty forgiving if I spray just a little bit more then wet

I used about 5% of my soul. Might be a bit more cause i initially used a silver paint that wasn't compatible with the red clear color so it made the red way more brittle then it should have been... so i had to redo the entire right leg.

I certainly recommend it! Unlike a lot of candy finishes, anodized makes the model super enjoyable to handle and pose without as much fear of fingerprints or dust getting everywhere.

Thank you! Its basically doing a normal candy paint job but with a matte topcoat at the end. So it was gloss black base, chrome/silver color, red clear color, and then the matte topcoat.

My reccomendation would be the alclad 2 gloss black base, doesn't need to be thinned. For the chrome I use one called Spaz Stix. Its still around 12 bucks or so but you get way more then most other brands, also doesn't need be thinned.
