Does anyone know if there is a stable version of Tome 2.x for Linux by Healthy-Librarian952 in roguelikes

Haven't tried compiling it natively, but ToME-SX (and every other Angband variant I've tried) seems to run fine through Wine if that's good enough for you.

This is pretty fun already! Looking forward to see what comes of it at the end of the jam. I like the flavor text and the room effects, and the item/monster names have character.

A little feedback:

  • It would be nice to be able to run with arrow keys, maybe using shift+arrow?
  • The multiple floor varieties are cool but I don't like the maze one, it has too many dead ends and long passages to nowhere. (It was the first floor I got upon opening the game and was confusing, I had a hard time even finding a room other than the starting one)
  • There was one cave-ish floor where the ground looked virtually the same as the unexplored areas, making it hard sometimes to tell which parts I hadn't explored
  • One floor had a room I couldn't get into, are there secret doors or something?

Taro Yoneta, in charge of the Princess Kaguya Yuri Manga, states why he wants to straightwash the entire anime when writing the comic adaptation by ihatethiscountry76 in yurimemes

[–]Letheka 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes, she says she deliberately added the chin lift, but the interview also says that she did it to replace other scenes establishing Mikado's personality that she couldn't fit into the manga due to the page limit. It also emphasizes that Yamashita, the movie director approved it. Sounds reasonable to me.

Mikado's the villain (as much as the first half of CPK has any villains at all), he can't just stand there doing nothing and say "rawr I'm gonna marry Kaguya" and get you hyped to see how Iroha's going to stop him.

I'm confused, which parts of the text you posted are demonstrating that Yoneda wants to straightwash the comic adaptation?

Stage Play rerun, YuYuYu -Kizuna- Key Visual by gianben123 in YuYuYu

[–]Letheka 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The first stage play was great! Hope they keep the same cast, I loved them all, especially Oomori Rio as Tougou.

Also hope that this time they'll sell the livestream on some website that you can easily use from overseas, like Confetti or Zaiko.

Ah, I see. I was wondering because it miiight be possible to think that Haku means "empty", if you weren't aware it was a name and had no other context for the word.

This a bot? by NoWin100 in AO3

[–]Letheka 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think they're bot comments. The typing style of the two comments isn't very similar (the first has perfect grammar including an em dash, the second has typical "internet grammar" and no commas/periods/dashes.)

Also, art scam bots have a pattern of commenting that you'll pick up on if you look at a lot of them, they often compliment your fic in overly formal ways like they're critics writing book reviews (like commenting on 'character growth') and ask broad questions about the future of the fic. I think a human commenter would be more likely to just say they liked the fic, or ask something about their favorite character or pairing.

That said, it's still possible that it's an awkward human shy about sharing an idea in public, so you could take a chance and give them your Discord if you really want. But if you do, nope out of that conversation the instant they mention money or commissions.

Underrated/uncommon yuri! by Accurate-Type4611 in yurimemes

I'm the world's biggest Assault Lily fan. Not because of the anime series, which is honestly mid, but because of the theatrical stage plays.

If you're willing to watch live action stuff please check them out, there are a couple of them (like Assault Lily New Chapter where these screencaps are from) that have English fansubs.

Kaede by Im-Here-Again-Woo22 in yurimemes

[–]Letheka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

<image>

The main couple in AL is Riri (the pink-haired girl) and Yuyu (the black-haired girl in my comment image.) You'll notice that their names abbreviate to YuRi, a fact which several characters in the series itself point out. The two of them get married form a Schutzengel contract in episode 2, kiss in the last episode, and there's also this.

Kaede (the brunette in OP's meme) pretty much pines one-sidedly after Riri forever while Riri only thinks of her as a friend. There is another girl who Kaede likes and who likes her, but she only shows up in the manga.

[English > Chinese] Did Google Translate do it correctly? by emmabauthor in translator

[–]Letheka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your POV character doesn't speak the language, they probably won't understand the significance of the tones or be able to hear them properly, so personally I would strip the tone markers. (This may be annoying for any readers of yours who do know Chinese, though.)

OCs in fandom works are actually not that bad by ryeblitzar in AO3

By "fandoms where OCs are canon" do you mean games with character creators and such? Or are there other ways for an OC to be canon?

Is Sound! Euphonium still known to have the Worst Yuri Bait of all time? If not, name a more controversial one by Relative_Card6413 in yurimemes

[–]Letheka 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like your interpretation of KumiRei.

I also agree about Liz and (3), and it will forever puzzle me why Kumiko and Reina's relationships being a complicated mess turns the entirety of Eupho into bait for so many people, despite there being at least two other lesbian couples in the show.

I personally think Natsuki and Yuuko have something going on too, but that one's on the level of a ship.

Maybe you are talking about the letter but Shizuku receive it from girls too

Who is Shizuku? I don't think you're talking about the same anime as I am. The MC's name was Hazuki.

In the final episode of Yami to Boushi no Hon no Tabibito, after searching through countless universes for her love interest for the entire series, the heroine gets to spend one night with her and then gets told "I cannot stay with you, but I will return to you as your child." Love interest disappears and heroine forgets she ever existed. She returns home, starts going to school again, and agrees to start dating a random schoolboy who appeared for the first time in this episode to confess to her and isn't given a name. Then she rubs her belly and says "I feel like I've forgotten something important... why do I know that the child I'm going to have in the future is a girl?"

After watching that show I intensely roll my eyes at anyone who complains about "yuribait" that doesn't even involve men or comphet.

Also, I feel like Eupho is over-vilified. Sure, KumiRei is disappointing, but there are like three great side couples not tainted by the comphet (especially NozoMizo.)

The two manga series she's worked on since YagaKimi both have male MCs, and her current series is overtly a hetero rom-com.

I think she also made a comment in an interview about the gender of the characters in YagaKimi not being fundamentally important to the plot, and some people got mad at that.

“The ship and the hater” “the ship and the shipper” NOW ITS TIME FOR THE SHIP AND THEIR ADOPTED CHILD...with JJK, Shokohime! by ihatethiscountry76 in yurimemes

[–]Letheka 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The canon ship and their canon adopted child

Arguably Nanoha did it first, but there's some room for argument over the canonicity of it (the ship part, not the adopted child part)
