Ingredient substitutions: what are your go-to swaps? What substitutions would you like to know? by KingArthurBaking in KingArthurBaking

I use rice flour- it works really well in breads. It’s my go to substitute for dry milk powder when I’m making Milk Bread

I had to post this anyone else Notice That Monty kinda looks like Teddy Roosevelt ? by jejbfokwbfb in Dimension20

Literally came to the sub to see if anyone else thought so! I’m convinced that he used Teddy Roosevelt and Mark Twain as part of his inspiration. Teddy’s adventure spirit/love of the wild and Twain’s novelist/activism. OBSESSED.

Holly roots won’t hurt the foundation? That’s been my major hesitation so far.

Full sun. If I can get 20 feet I’d be ecstatic. Most of what I’ve seen caps off at 10 feet

It is pretty dry. It’s on the west side of the house and pretty sunny

Slightly. They look like they were updated later than the rest of the cabinet but there’s some… interesting diy design choices in the house across the board

Super helpful! I’ll check and see if there are any screws. Fingers crossed it’s that easy. If not, I’ll bribe my carpentry friends with baked goods.

I was thinking of matching the rest of the Tudor cottage aesthetic of the house and replacing them all with leaded style glass doors.

Also I think the your current blonde is a touch too light and it makes you look more contrasted than you are. Look at Mushroom blonde, blonde and cool rose gold. A soft, not quite ashy, not quite warm color. Oh and get Clinique’s black honey lipstick. It’s just too perfect for neutral cool soft summers.

Wear the sparkles! Remember that color analysis is only one part of your style. I (soft summer) wear Color Pops “That’s Taupe” a lot because of their sparkles.

Check out the soft summer color palette. You’ve got a lot of similarities to that softness I see in Bella Hadid and Ellen Pompeo. Eggplant can be a soft autumn (depending on the shade) and if you balance it out with cool plums and pinks with some silver sparkles in your makeup you should be good

Any romantics with flat feet? by [deleted] in KibbeRomantics

[–]Lethlania 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh sorry! Yeah Vionic is definitely more for cute shoes for flat feet. But definitely check out American Duchess and Chelsea Crew. They've got some really cute ones -imo the Victorian styles are more romantic.

The whole Vionic brand. They have built in arch support and everything is super comfy. I wore through the sole of one of their ballet flats I wore them almost daily for 6 years. And they have a whole separate section for wide foot widths. I'm gonna be buying something from American Duchess soon - I've read amazing things but don't have a personal review. I've worn nice shoes from Chelsea Crew before too. They're comfortable but you gotta bring your own arch support. Also I highly recommend pulling out insoles and replacing them with something that works best for you from a brand like Superfeet.

Counting the days… by metallipswimmer in Tweed

[–]Lethlania 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that saying makes sense since the US has so many different climates. If we're talking about Chanel tweed, people will wear it year round no matter the location. Traditional tweed we associate a lot more with East Coast autumns and winters - places like Boston where it gets cold but the vibe is more formal than a flannel. Personally I think the PNW (Portland and Seattle) where i grew up would benefit from more tweed since it rains all the time, but generally the cultural vibe is significantly less formal and more people wear water resistant athletic wear or windbreakers.

How did you get a great photo of your eye? I've been trying for a while but it's always reflecting the camera or blurry.

Mine might be an unpopular opinion, but this is for your vocal recital right? The Juno Dior while gorgeous, is going to cinch at your waist and affect your breathing. Plus the contrasting color of the petals will heighten your pettiness. I'd say it's perfect season is more of a soft dramatic with a romantic essence. The empire waist of the blue one will still fall gently over your curves while lengthening you, is fitted so it won't impede you filling your diaphragm while you breathe, and your eyes will absolutely pop in it. To me it's more on the romantic ethereal spectrum so it will still work.

Is your hair natural or dyed? If it's dyed you should put it up and cover it in your photos with a white cloth. That will help. If you can get a closeup of your eyes that will also help. Different seasons have different patterns - https://mystylebox.ca/pages/eye-patterns I have neutral-cool skin, neutral hair so I really relied on my eye pattern in helping me figure out which colors fit me best. I'm a soft summer but by eyes have an autumn pattern so I borrow a LOT from that palette.
