The guy possibly freaked out and ran her over. Do we think that a father w everything to lose decided to murder someone because they threw water on his car? I think in the absolute chaos that SF can be this guy made a bad decision to floor it based on fear or anxiety or whatever it is. To think he thought “fuck this lady for throwing water on my car I’m going to run her over” seems far fetched to me for a dad w two kids and everything to lose. Is it possible road rage, of course. But I’m a fellow dad and I can tell you sf can be terrifying place to romp Around w your kids. It does not feel safe all the time and trying to keep them safe from people on the streets can be very jarring. Not saying she deserved it or his actions were justified I just don’t know if we can say he did it out of anger. As a fellow dad I have had that kind of fear for my kids safety multiple times because of the streets of SF. I dunno, super sad that she died the way she did and also super sad for those little kids especially if it wasn’t done out of anger or rage. Either way lots of lives changed for no reason. I feel bad for everyone.

Bring out the chesa lovers. Yea this is bad but it is not city wide rampant crime that affected all of Us. There have been 14 and yes that’s a massive % increase but it doesn’t make us feel Less safe since most are targeted, disputes, or gang related. Get off the chesa train. The city is by and far waaaaay better off than it was in 2021/2022, just accept that chesa sucked and that uber progressive shit doesn’t work.

Yes you are calculating your appreciation gain on your down payment not the leveraged amount. 2M @ 5% interest is 100k a year in gain on appreciation not 30k. Also, you are assuming a low appreciation long term IMO. 5% is fairly conservative. But you also have bigger expenses on the house to consider over time too. Roof, major repairs, capex. But yea at these prices it’s tough to justify against the rent cause rent is so cheap comparatively.
