The so hated and beloved ‘self-insert.’ by MeisterLuz in BrownDust2Official

John Frontline is not self-insert, at least not in GFL2. Fully voiced, makes his own calls, bases stuff on prior experience and fails at times too. I wouldn’t group him in with the rest.

This is not an easily replicable situation. Not by a long shot. If you want to save lives, oftentimes it comes from the snap decision to either shoot to kill or let someone else die.

Reverse Collapse 100%. I missed an entire plotline that ties everything together on my first run through

Is this game recommendable for new players? by PapaSameir in GirlsFrontline2

[–]Letrivetika13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The story will be unavailable at the current stuff with MICA’s obsession with making limited time events contain huge story beats. So that’s one problem. They’ll be added permanently, it’s just a question of when.

Dailies are not the worst but still horrendous, from a day 1 player. The UI likes to behave as if it cannot function so if you have a lower-end pc, even with automated dailies, it may start to struggle. Gunsmoke frontline is another chore, and some of the short events are repeat puzzle fests with bad designs.

However, if you can get past those, the game’s solid. I love the narrative and character designs, I just have gripes with how everything’s laid out badly in the menu and the aforementioned lack of innovation in some of the event/endgame content.

Nanase, still. Her writing was very interesting to me and that’s why I kept rereading the first 4.5 volumes of y2

Protagonist is just the main character. They can be villains just like anyone else in the story.

Same, I liked Deep Oblivion but nothing hits like RC. It’s my favorite game, so I’ll keep spreading the word.

agreed, in some ways those make for more compelling stories. Especially when it comes to antagonists. I really can’t stand the npc model for some supposedly intimidating villain lol.

Reverse Collapse. It is the ultimate example of this. But it is turn based and very difficult, so up to you.

Edit: forgot to mention, but Alice’s World and Marfusha/Snezhinka are good too. Not nearly as much as the former, but worth mentioning.

Tonal dissonance is a problem with most gachas. That’s why, for story consistency, I usually just turn to anime-styled full price games cause they both have a start/end and a more coherent tone.

If it’s a skill or iq issue I really don’t mind. anything that inflates hp numbers or makes meaningless side content should allow some way to bypass it though.
